'(any problem) isn't Fords fault - it's a supplier issue'
Both groups get salty with this one. The other version is:
A 2 door is a real Bronco/Wrangler, a 4 door is an just another SUV...
Mine was built within the first few weeks after the 1st lockdown restart and came with the upgraded stearing box. I still had a horrible first few days where it drove skittish as hell - wouldn't hold a line and followed every groove in the road....only to discover (thank you forum advice!) the...
It is still an issue now. Castor under 5.5 deg really causes the SFA to 'drift' at speed. Rubi's are marginal to start, having a taller suspension with the same lower control arms as the sport. When I put a rubi recon take off on my 2 door (2.5 inches of lift) I swapped in the longer LCA's to...
The douch doesn't even have his metaphor right.
If all you two were doing was posing next to built rigs than he'd be right.
But you guys are obviously out in it, having fun and sometimes pushing you're rigs to the breaking point. Otherwise you'd have no content.
True definition of a troll...
He is aptly named...funny that the two stock(ish) rigs are the only ones to survive the day. It's true of the Wrangler as well as the Bronco: the more lift/tires you put on them, the more you need to beef up the other components....
Really good content in this one. Great work on the rack and tie rod upgrades too..
Just looks like a great day on the trail....
If the winch doesn't come out at least once, you're not pushing hard enough...
...and cudo's to Brittany as a spotter. She's really quite good...
I'm in the SW desert as well and I've always left mine (2 door JL) disconnected even transitioning to sand. The sfa feels less harsh over bumps at speed when disconnected. Of course, I'm not carving turns at 50 either. But I can see wanting to re-connect in the Bronco as it's going to be way...
That's why I've never understood the fascination with the electronic disconnect. As soon as I hit dirt - pop the staun's on the tires and while they're deflating, reach under the bumper and unhook the quick disco's. 3 minutes and ready to roll... I've never thought 'Gee, I wish my sway bar was...
This is some really good content. An experienced driver putting the bronco through it's paces on a 8/10 trail. Expect we'll see the edited Litebright version in a week or so...good stuff
Goddam, I love that blue paint.
But I am biased...
It happens to the best of us!
Kevin snaps his tie rod @ 13:55 in this new video.
Granted, that was a hell of an obstacle he was trying to get over...
You can see the drag link bending before the tie rod snaps. Just a crazy amount of pressure put on those components...
LMAO:
"I thought we...
This discussion got pretty salty on the JL Forum as well. It's quite entertaining - 36 pages of agro angst over a small rubber object being placed gently on ones vehicle.
If you can save enough threads on both sides, just throw a heavy turnbuckle on it, and away you go.
I'm mostly joking, but may have, once long ago, known someone, who heard about someone's cousin's friend, who may have rigged up a blatantly unsafe tie rod fix, in order to get around until a...
Shoot, we even have a trail here in Vegas called 'Tie Rod Canyon'. So named after some guy snapped his and buried it sticking out of the ground as a trail marker...
Didn't look like he sent it too hard, but wheeling breaks stuff. Sometimes even a light hit at just the right angle will do you...
I am in no way saying give up the fight yet - you deserve the Bronco you ordered. And I'd keep at it until it's either yours or the slimballs sell it out from under you..
But if it ends badly, you still can get into something great.
For about what you were going to spend, you can get a '22...
He ain't lying. I have a 2 door 2.0T and it is a rocket from a standing start. The transmission is tuned just right and will chirp the tires going in to 2nd. Mid 5's to 60 make it a blast to floor up freeway on ramps....
Not the most important thing in an off roader, I get it, but if you have...
Jeep is delivering factory ordered Wrangler's in 8 - 10 weeks. This is totally a Ford problem.
They are producing and delivering the same spec Bronco's res holders have ordered to big dealers ahead of them.
I honestly don't get the 'suck it up and shut up' crowd on here...
Are they die hard...
With less than 30% of todays vehicles having a 'traditional' handbrake, you're probably right.
But if you've driven cars for decades with them, I think it's almost second nature to grab them when needed. It's right there, and you pull it every time you park.
As a teenager I lost the brakes on...
This was one of my biggest design gripes on the Bronco.
I know 'hill start assist, bla, bla, bla'.
I've always relied on a manual E brake when starting on steep inclines (I drove a manual in San Francisco for years) ...and in actual emergency's.
It's just so intuitive to grab that handle when...
