The Bronco top has holes for the torx bolts just like the Wrangler.
I simply lift the corners with one hand and feed the line through.
The 2 door JL top weighs 90ish lbs. I believe the Bronco top is about 85.
That set up should translate directly over to the Bronco.
My JL set up from another thread. Takes 15/20 minutes on or off. Manual pull is easy - one arm for each line - and sits flush against the ceiling. Strap is just safety insurance after it's lifted and tied off....
There's uses for both. I carry two D-rings and a few soft shackles (as well as two recovery rings, two tree savers, and a tow rope) I have a Factor 55 flatlink e on my winch that can use either. Here's a good video explaining the pro's & con's of each:
Def start from the 17 and go down to Sedona. Best views by far in that direction.
I was just in Sedona last weekend and most of the 'rim roads' were still closed - just checked the Coconino/ red rock road status and Schnebly is now open all the way through.
ran the Outlaw Trail loop this time...
I spent last week with the wife and dog in Flagstaff/Sedona played in the woods on the rim and drove the Outlaw trail loop in Sedona. Get a Wrangler now and come back to the Bronco when all the crazy settles down.
Don't wait for life to come to you....go out there and grab it!
I don't know what your garage set up is like so this may not apply. But I made a lift for my JL 2 door's top for under $50. Two kayak hoists, a pair of 6" cleats and some 550 paracord. Takes 15/20 minutes to remove/replace solo & can park under the the top in either direction.
Mishimoto has been making catch cans for both JL motors for a few years now and the results have been interesting to say the least.
The V6 is seeing a decent amount of blow by caught in the can - most need to be emptied between 3k & 5k miles. The 2.0 turbo is seeing almost no blow by at all...
Here's a compromise for you. If you're using android auto, get either the Auri Music or Musicolet app. They organize your music library on your phone so it can be played through AA.
Yes, you have to use your phone storage - but that's what micro sd cards are for.
And you don't have to bluetooth...
Bummer about your Gladiator - I've 30k fairly hard miles on my '20 2 door without issue - Forest Gump's box of chocolates I guess (the 2.7L owners know that feeling)
Yep, the handbrake is angled by design, so's we can get our meaty paws around it in a hurry without barking our knuckles - or...
It's because I've done stupid shit and learned from it, that I feel qualified to comment.
Anyone with lot's of wheel time in the dirt has put themselves into stupid, foolish, rash and redonkulous positions- and will happily tell you about them over a beer or a campfire.
I agree, they seem...
Lol!
My JL's an auto and I still have my hand on the handbrake going up anything steep....cause you just never know....
It's like turning on the blower in a gas boat before starting the engine...it was beat into my head at an early age and is an essential part of the process
A handle next to the seat takes half a second to pull - any experienced off road driver will tell you it's second nature to grab that handle the instant you stall. Or if you learned to drive a manual in, say, San Francisco ;)
That's why I'm calling an either/or. If the brakes didn't hold then...
Don't get me wrong, I find his antics very entertaining - in the same way I loved Nitro Circus. It's his stuff to bend however he likes.
But that tipover was pure foolishness. Yes the engine stalled, but did it cause the brakes to fail? That's the only way it's the Bronco's fault (In which case...
