Third drain and fill completed today. Magnet had a bit of superfine metal dust but less than the second time.
I found the funnel I used the last two times at Ace. It can still airlock if you set the hose all the way down on the fill port and open the flow all the way... at half open I didn't...
There were honestly less shavings in the first drain than I expected, much less in the second. When I do the third in the next 2 days I'll take pics, but I'm hoping for very little.
My first trip was about 1300 miles straight back to Texas from San Diego. My second trip was from Texas to Denver, then to Ogden, UT, then east through WY (up through Casper then down I-25) back to Texas. My next trip will be this coming weekend, from Texas to Johnson Valley for KOH, then around...
It depends on the temperature, size of the funnel, how long you let them drip to drain, etc. After the first time I bought a nicer funnel that lets you fill to the premeasured volume then turn a valve open while holding the clear tube and seeing the flow rate, etc (can pinch it off before top...
Basically because of the anticipated hassle of having to take my wheels apart to get the tires mounted on the new wheels... I live 90 miles away from the discount tire... I also need to replace the extremely well worn tires on my jeep which is already geared/set up for 40's but has 37's... so I...
Random update- the manufacturer I was hoping would be willing to make custom wheels for me is not able to accommodate at this time... so because I plan to put a lot of miles on this setup in the next month or so.. I picked one of the confirmed to fit options... discount tire had the MR706 Bead...
Using the Ford Performance ProCal I threw a code anytime I went below 579 revs per mile or above 5.38 gear ratio. The code required a reprogram of the settings and an AWD relearn in the tools menu to resolve.
I have been at 579 revs per mile and 5.38 gear ratio settings with no trouble for a...
I am running FOX 3.0's (I haven't messed with height or preload yet). The rubbing is minimal and again, only when compressed and at near full lock. I could firm up the front low speed setting and probably not have any rub, but I plan to trim/hammer in the near future to allow me to take another...
With the nitto 40's I have slight rubbing still with 3" suspension lift, no body lift, on the front of the pinch seam, at full lock with some compression (I plan to actually trim, etc. later as necessary to let me go down 1" of suspension lift). I have a lot of residential streets where...
Its a little different since he owns a shop that does regears and engine swaps all day long. Its like an oil change for him, for better fuel economy forever. Parts at cost, deductible cause its on a shop/display/marketing vehicle, etc. /shrug
I believe he regeared (shorter) in anticipation of the portals 1.22 multiplier. I believe I read or heard (somewhere online or maybe on a call directly with him previously) he was wanting close to a 5.00 final drive ratio with the portals. He definitely did not regear the portals AFAIK.
EDIT...
