IIRC I think it has more to there being no existing 2.7 manual and therefore the tooling to fit one isn't justified by the expected take rate than with TQ limitations on the manual in the 2.3, although that could also be a factor.

Agreed. Not sure what happens if you have the soft top and then option this from Ford. They fulfill it without the soft top that's already cooked into your price? If you swap out the factory unit for this you should get a credit. Otherwise, why not get the factory option, use it until it's beat...
