VERY VERY TRUE words. Here is Washington State's minimum insurance
Carry liability insurance with liability limits of at least:
$25,000 for injuries or death to another person
$50,000 for injuries or death to all other people
$10,000 for damage to another person's property

Oh I know the frame is steel and I know it needs to be replaced (at least the back half and maybe the front) The body tub is steel, I put a magnet on it. The body mount was almost pulled out of the tub.
Getting an estimate is apparently hard. Tomorrow it goes to a 5th shop, shops 1-4...
Riddle me this- you have to take the whole body off anyways (I am assuming) to replace the rear half… seems like less work to just replace the whole thing rather than welding in a new rear section.
It’s all getting frustrating at this point, 4 shops have declined to even give an estimate...
3 Body shops declined to give estimates as it was too big a job for their shops (including 2 that are preferred by my insurance) 4th said totaled and walked away not interested. 5th said see you in July for an estimate.
Because i have been having trouble getting anyone to estimate it quickly- One shop said they don't do aluminum, second said they could look at in July, 3rd shop looked at for 30 seconds and said totaled, 4th shop is scheduled for later this week.
I was hit by a DUI driver.
Yes
the above photo is the rear body mount hanging on for dear life to the frame. The driver side rear frame rail is destroyed.
disregarding the bad photo- Can an aluminum body be pulled out like a steel unibody car can?
Just trying to wrap my head around what it might take to fix my rear ended Bronco and is it even possible. Frame is crushed, rear cross member toast, tailgate and tire carrier shot, rear bumper destroyed, rear cargo are bowed up.
The driver’s side rear frame rail is crushed 4-5 inches or so...
This not gonna be fun- Went to the bodyshop my insurance agent recommended- They don't work on aluminum body vehicles. Called the shop the first recommended- First date for an estimate is July, maybe get into the shop in September.. That is crazy. Called 3rd shop and headed there today for...
Frame on driver’s side is toast, cargo floor is bent upwards, door gap on driver’s side is hideous, tailgate is trash… going to body shop tomorrow for an estimate
It’s not my FE, it’s my 2021 Badlands so even less reason, we bought my wife the badlands and me the FE…. But she keeps driving her 2007 FJ Cruiser, she really never got comfortable driving the Bronco.
Thanks for the feedback, to some it doesn’t look like much, but as soon as I saw the frame...
Luckily it was on our Badlands and not the FE. She and the passenger admitted MJ use. It wasn’t so much the initial speed, it was that she didn’t let up after hitting me. I lost steering control as I was being pushed from behind
