I use Goodyear Duratrac E rated MTs and they arent particularly good on wet or snow even though they have the 'snow' symbol on them (really easy to break lose with even a slight touch of the throttle). Different models/mfg will vary. I have had ATs in the past and they were better for general...
The fords I've seen recently have the sensors up behind the rearview mirror. Putting it in the center of the bumper wouldnt work well since most of the US (and may other countries) require a front license plate.
That was my complaint on the bronco. How can a relatively large SUV have such low ground clearance on 35s? The xterra pro4x has 9.5" clearance on 32s and stock suspension for comparison.
Both the front and rear legroom on the 4dr bronco are better than what the 2nd gen Xterra has and I (at 6'1") can easily sit there without my knees against the seats/dash. I dont think any of those numbers could be considered a bad thing and are certainly way more than enough for a rear facing...
You'd have 4 or 5 inches of clearance. The sasquatch package height is actually shorter than my current xterra (lifted etc). I only have about a 1 -2 inch clearance currently so the Bronco will be a better fit.
I currently drive an xterra pro4x w/ lift/armor etc. I need a vehicle that I can daily drive comfortably, and have plenty of room for camping/offroading supplies and the Jeep does not fit that bill. The 4runner does and would be a good alternative to my current vehicle but it needs an model...
110lbs maybe tricky. Just a quick look on REI and only 2 of theirs would work (both 2 person and under 110lbs). The 3+ person tents all are well over the 110lb.
I feel like having to get 35s to get to 11.5 inches of ground clearance sounds wrong. Do we know if that quoted 11.5 is really with the sasquatch package or is that the height w/ 33s?
Its not any bigger/heavier than an xterra which has less power and does very well with what it has. The fact that bronco has turbos will help a lot (especially in high altitude places).
MT tires w/ E rating (thick sidewalls etc) are pretty rough (and noisy) on the road. The stiff sidewall does help with cornering since they flex a bit less. The real question is how well the springs+shocks handle the bumps. Its probably not practical for a vehicle like the bronco but an air...
I'm a bit surprised about the 3500lb capacity. My 2017 escape (with the 2.0 engine) had that much and my xterra has 5000. The new defender has 7500+ even with its full offroad setup. 3500 isnt enough to tow anything other than a small camper.
We do know enough about the specs and interior at this point, just not how much the options will cost or what accessories will be available (sounds like a lot though, like 200+ accessory options). The reservation is to get a spot in line on a particular base 'build' then you pick the other...
4dr Badlands. I'm not sure how the various trim packages will work but I do want headed seats/steering, the cameras etc. I couldnt see what size tire comes without the sasquatch package (did I just miss it someplace?) but 34 or 35 would be fine for me. I do want both lockers and rock sliders...
2.7 w/ auto. (knee issues prohibit having a clutch) I do wonder what it will cost. Depending on the cost of the 2.7 + auto + trim options this thing could get close to the cost of the new Defender (which has smaller tires, but the same ground clearance somehow)
Finally got a reservation! Both times I got a non-blank payment screen I had started from the personal info screen and made it from there to payment without the 'error'. Any time there was an error on the payment screen no amount of refresh would get the proper payment screen.
The 2nd time I...
