I think half of these offers for 10-15K over msrp would never be followed through. Dealers can ask what they want, that doesn't mean people are paying it. They might say someone just paid it, no offense to any dealers here but my experience tells me they simply can't be trusted. Anything...
Beef up the tie rod enough until the next failure point is the rack. I'd rather have the <$100 than the >$1K replacement of the rack and be dead on the trail.
Are the tie rods snapping a failure of repeatedly over stressing the part or is it a once and snap thing?
I wouldn't cancel anything until you have the keys. If your lucky you have a good dealer that will stick to your price, if not you'll have a second try.
I have a base model, 2.3 manual. I found the 1st to 2nd shift to come up really quick. Once in 2nd I would say accelerating is no problem. This was with the stock 30" tires on the base, I installed 32" rims/tires from an Outer Banks and found the 1st to 2nd shift more bearable even though...
My dealer tried to do the same thing. I kept asking what is their policy on previously placed orders, not walk ins or orders placed today. I just want what was offered to me when I moved my reservation to them (msrp). I mentioned I'm on a website and everyone is sharing how dealers are...
Nice job, any under body / suspension pictures? Once you start turning your own wrenches you learn to appreciate the work that goes into restoration jobs on older vehicles.
Oakpv1, that's a perfect example of what Ford should have offered.
I'm also looking to upgrade my base tires to something with a little bigger. In 16" the 265/75/16 cost wise is the best option, diameter 31.7" and 10.5" wide. On the Black Diamond w/17" steelies the tires are 31.7"x 10.7...
I went on tirerack and just listed the specs for each size. My list only went 33" as I wasn't interest in anything bigger at the time.

It does sound like they sold it out from under you. The paper work I signed (along with most) is apparently worthless when it comes to price but it seems like it gave me 1st chance of refusal.

The 2 door is not the best vehicle if you have younger kids. All the extras in getting the kids safe and happy. Forget about changing a diaper or shirt. May have to double check space for the stroller.
Even for older kids, getting out to let them climb in is going to wear out on everyone...
Were you ever sent the vin# through Ford? Did you get the vehicle in production e-mails?
Just trying to see what the trail is between you and the vin. Hate to ask, do you have any purchase agreement (most don't) with the dealer? Did you ever tell or email them you don't want the 2 door?
If...
Try walking into a dealer and getting it at msrp. I'm sure a few people currently waiting for their vin or order would gladly settle for an in stock unit today.
Got the call mine has arrived, Old Bridge NJ. I stop tracking a while ago, I have to wait until Sat to get to the dealer. I'll keep everyone posted
