Not sure why you got so many smart ass answers. Yours was a legitimate question. "Get a truck!" is a pretty lame answer.
I don't load mine up as much as you do - I just have a soft car top carrier on a half rack. Works well for 2 of us plus 2 small dogs. I have a hitch mount rack if I...
I debated KM3 vs KO3 and just went with the KO3's (stock SAS size). My wheeling is in Colorado, Moab and Texas - I tend to stay away from mud and usually we drive to destination. Being quiet on the road was high on my list of criteria.
Not sure why all the hate. It looks pretty good to me. Anytime you try to match technologies, engineering, aesthetics 60 years apart there will be compromises. I think they've handled them pretty well.
In our local wheeling group we often have more dogs (plus sometimes 1 cat) than people!. Our 2 long hair miniature dachshunds love it. In the Gen6 they ride on the back seat. In our 76 trail rig (no doors, bikini top) they ride in a crate which I strap down.
We bring water and treats and...
I don't consider them "beauty rings"or "fake beadlocks". I think of them as rim protectors. Nothing poser about them. Mine are pretty scratched up from wheeling in Moab, Colorado and Texas. It's time for me to remove them, clean them up and repaint them for more wheeling this coming summer!
Ha Ha! I'm retired. Now we have 4 grand kids . . . so we still need a 4-door!
BUT, I keep dreaming about (keeping the 4 door and also) getting a used 2 door Base SAS with 2.3 and the manual tranny.
Just curious, how many of the above listed cars had LED headlights? Probably none but possibly the '17 and '19 VWs?
Agree, stopping in the middle of a snow storm to de-ice your headlights is a big deal and can be dangerous. I had to pull over several times on I25 in Colorado before I bought...
I have switched, and all my off-roading friends have switched to GMRS. MUCH better on the trail than CB especially here in CO where the trails are really line of sight. I have a mounted unit in my 76 trail rig and I use a handheld in my '22 Badsquatch.
Just curious, for those of you still...
Agree with others - if you like the Bronco (when it's running good!) then trade it in on a new(er) one and transfer the upgrades to the new Bronco. Mine has 60K + miles and only issue has been the heater motor which was replaced under warranty.
Kinda cool with some nice upgrades. Nice blueprint for do it yourself mods. I am too puzzled why they would drop 2 of the upfitter switches. I use all 6 of mine and could use 2 more!!
Yes, that's the one! She had a couple minor scrapes and her dog was terrified, but nothing serious. After this I tried to get her to buy a Bronco but she ended up getting a 392 Rubicon. We kid her that she can now go farther up the wall!
I was spotting her and she did a great job coming down...
