Stress cracks do happen on all types of windshields. Especially with changes of temperature. I’ve lost windshields on TJs, YJs, F250s, F350s, and more. I was sitting in a TJ one day when suddenly the windshield split vertically up the middle. So now I have $100 deductible glass coverage.
My ‘22...
The failure rate of these windshields is exactly on par with similar windshields on similar vehicles. Upright windshields on SUVs and trucks have always had a higher damage rate than those on cars.
I had the 285/75R17 KO2s on my 2022 Black Diamond 2D 7M. The spare just fits under the third brake light. There is no other issue with it. I did remove the crash bars. I also had a 2" puck lift and had slight rubbing at full right lock in a slow turn. The load range E tires were fine with that...
The Black Diamond 2D has full underbody skid plates, steel bumpers, aux switches, front open differential, rear locking differential (no Bronco has limited-slip), and a 4.46:1 final drive ratio.
the 2.3 puts out 275 hp on regular and 300 hp on premium so it’s not a weak engine. I just traded in...
I drove my REB Heritage home all of 16 miles last month. Traded a ‘22 Black Diamond 2D 7M for it so I had a direct comparison between the old ’22 and the ‘25. The new one is much quieter than the one BD. I think it’s the acoustic glass and the painted hardtop that make the most difference. Wind...
Thats a clever design. Would look nice on my ‘25 Heritage Edition and provide just that little extra space needed occasionally on a road or off-road trip. I use my Bronco daily, off-road, and on longer road trips.
Said goodbye to my 22 2D 7M Black Diamond and hello to my 25 4D 10A Heritage Edition. Was concerned about the roof and the manual on the Black Diamond for the long haul. Was some mild cracking on the roof and I didn’t like the cold idle noises from the transmission. I will miss the little Bucker!
It’s a manual too
They are KO2 load range E. Makes them about 10lb heavier than the Goodyear Territory 315s Load range C. That’s the trade-off I accepted for the size.
Split the difference. Get 285/75 R17 on the BD steelies. That gives you a 34 (33.9) inch tire with plenty of sidewall but should be less drag than the 315s.
Blue Bucker… Named after a bucking bronco. It’s a manual and if I screwup a shift and stall it, as soon as I push in the clutch it bucks a bit and restarts.
i was responding to a prior comment describing a wet belt as a “Kevlar clogged oil pump belt”, so yeah, somebody seems to think the 2.3 has a wet oil pump belt.
