Partly my fault as I had to show him the lockout ring as he needed to back out to drive it. Like many people, he’d driven plenty of MTs but never one with a lockout. I’m sure he just kept his hand on the shifter and didn’t realize he still had the lockout up and was babying the shift which is a...
Ford calls their lowest gear crawl (C). Simple as that. You can call it the true 1st gear, granny low, etc., but Ford chose to call it crawl and that’s how most of us Bronco MT owners refer to it.
First time my BIL drove my Bronco he did a 1-C shift instead of a 1-2 shift. That was a hard jolt to everything and most likely an overrev. That was 40K miles ago and the clutch is still going strong. Seems in my case one time was not enough to cook the clutch.
Yeah, I’m around 60K and wouldn’t be mad if mine went out tomorrow. At least 6 other people have offroaded my Bronco and a couple were new to manuals. I’ve been down right dirty to my clutch and it’s still going strong.
In simplest terms, it's worth it if you need it. It's not if you don't.
I can recall 21 new cars I've purchased. I needed a warranty on a total of one. Cost me $12K out of pocket. So far I'm ahead not getting the warranty, but the odds are ever changing. How lucky do you feel and can you afford...
Hard to say since there are so many stock suspensions that all sit at different heights.
I have Icon coilovers that probably sit an inch or so taller than sasquatch suspension. I've posted my axle to fender measurements before but can't recall what they are now.
Most of the problems are just poor weatherstripping or even a bad job putting the top pieces on. I figure if he takes the top off and looks it over he'll figure out what it needs. Mine was too loud as it came from the factory but was made quite a bit quieter with a few pieces of foam here and there.
WHAT?
It's a feature. You'll appreciate it when you take a long trip with the spouse.
There is an old thread that was about adding weather stripping and pool noodles in certain areas to help with the sound. Worked pretty good for me. I also added a layer of memory foam. It's still pretty loud...
