FYI - Jeep is offering 3.49% and up to 96 month terms. I went with a more expensive build (2021 Sting Grey Unlimited Islander package with tow package and dual tops).
It is official. I no longer have a pony in this race. Despite several promised build dates, I was unable to secure any kind of guarantee I would see my Bronco in 2021, and if I did, the price was already going up.
Now before you ask, YES I had a deposit (now refunded) and a signed Order...
Exactly where I am at. Well, not a bad batch Bronco but a 6x delayed build Bronco; so I am behind you and the Recalls and the First Editions… and doubt I will make the 2021 Calendar cut off.
I have been understanding with Ford to date, but refusing to give two doors soft tops takes the cake...
B6G needs to start a Petition with Ford. Offer two door orders and VIN holders and Purgatory vehicles the option to switch to the Bestop Trek Top immediately, so we can get our two doors!! The MIC is a failure and the proposed fix only theoretical. Give us a roof by a vetted manufacturer or...
Trending on The Bronco Nation: “Jeep Truck is starting to look pretty good right about now.”
If Ford loses their “nation”, they lose the Jeep war.
I’m sorry, you are going to have to show me where they “committed”? All they did was say they are embarassed and ashamed and are working to fix the problem and will communicate via updates when they do. No timeline they committed to, just a hopeful one suggested.
they don’t even have the...
I hate to say it, but I work with a lot of companies HQ’d in the US but forced to deal with Canadian customers through their Canadian daughter companies… and there is a world of difference when it comes to corporate cultures.
American companies want to fight for your business; to demonstrate to...
Wow. If only Ford found an experienced high quality soft-top roof producer with extensive Off-Road product experience to partner with. Someone who could make their Soft tops for BOTH the two and four door models AND give Bronco owners non-wavy windows…. Someone maybe like:
If there is one thing I know for sure, it is that you cannot build a plant of any size in North America within a calendar year. Webasto already cut corners building Plymouth (mowing down the forest on the acreage they bought - and the government sued their asses for it). I reckon this time...

Think about it: this is a manufacturing defect like no other. The new MIC is using the same design; only thicker.
Think that will fix the problem? A cardboard honeycomb with a plastic skin is proving to be bad engineering.
That makes no sense. Ford is driving around soft top two doors already and features them in the Offroadeo. Jeep comes standard with a soft top. This ain’t about safety, Joe.
Zero. Ford isn’t allowing VIN holders or anyone with a built vehicle to change their order. 4 doors with bad hard tops must wait for hard tops. Full stop.
Dude. I am six build dates in with Ford. How is that NOT bold? They’ve even cancelled all further hardtop builds and some poor schmucks here think they’re still on for September simply because Ford hasn’t sent them a revised build date… and Ford ain’t done that because they don’t have one to...
…I wouldn’t be so sure about that. 20,000(?) for the 2021MY won’t actually go so far…. And major constraints are predicted through 2022… and Ford is already down 700,000 production vehicles this year due to those same constraints (across all platforms).
Hey, it may sound conspiratorial, but Ford has broken a shit tonne of promises already. Why the hell would ANYBODY believe that they’ll keep build date #6 before year end, when the top required to finish it hasn’t been set up for production yet, and the line of recalls, bad batches, and “First”...
The delays ain’t over yet. My build has been delayed 5x already; make that 6 since week of Sept 27th is now off the table too…. And if they delay long enough the clock runs out on my 2021 VIN? What then? I’ve asked my dealer that, and haven’t gotten an answer.
If Ford really intends to...
My concern is too that there are greater issues at play with the MIC top here, certainly more than the “cosmetic” issues that Ford has copped to.
We have seen/heard the rattles and taps of the MIC top while driving (see ). TFL isn’t the only one to report this, and while the root cause of the...
You guys do remember that 40 MICs/day were Webasto’s previous numbers? And that the DESIGN hasn’t changed, and that the SUPPLIER hasn’t changed, and that it is only a thicker application of the material + an edge sealing process that is going to be used? And that the new tooling required to...
