  1. Galloping sounds

The sound appears to be coming from audio, speakers. I recorded that by leaving the phone in the Bronco before I exited and closed the door.
  2. Galloping sounds

It’s not the window. It sounds like 4 sets of “trots”. And no I’m not imagining it. I was trying to post the iPhone MOV but it doesn’t seem to play after I post it. I’ll try uploading again.
  3. Galloping sounds

After exiting and closing doors, my Bronco makes a “galloping” or thumping sound. Sometimes multiple times. Is this normal? I didn’t notice it prior to installing an amp and new speakers so many it was there but much more faint.
  4. Base Audio Upgrade and Forscan

I installed JL Audio VX700/5i amp (which has an integrated DSP), Focal Performance 165AS3 component speakers in the front, Focal Performance 100AC 2-way speakers in the rear, JL Audio sub box, and I ran new speaker gauge wire to all the speakers after the amp. It made a world of difference as...
  5. Speaker static

Update: ACM not the issue!!! I took Bronco to the audio shop I usually use and they found my problem...I used poor quality 16 gauge wire from ACM to amp  I went all out on everything else, but used Polk audio speaker wire that came with a set of speakers from a previous install. The...
  6. Audio warranty voided

Amp is JL-Audio VX700/5i. There are no low level outputs in the Bronco so I connected the audio output from the Bronco to the amp using speaker wire to RCA adapter.

  10. Audio warranty voided

Thanks, I'm going to take it into the audio shop where I bought the amp for them to test the amp... But I did test it without the amp connected and behavior was the same. Speaker output was poor with static
  11. Audio warranty voided

The Ford service shop is telling me that the ACM needs replacement and is no longer under warranty because I installed an amp and speakers. They're claiming the trouble codes indicate that my installation caused the issues. (Here's the details of that thread, Speaker Static...post there if you...
  12. Speaker static

Update: Ford dealer service says the ACM has trouble codes indicating there was some sort of issue with 2 of the channels that was likely caused by my install and replacing ACM will not be covered by warranty. I was super careful with the install and double checked all my pos and neg connections...
  13. Speaker static

Yeah disconnected it several times as part of my troubleshooting and didn't correct it.
  14. Speaker static

Couple inches from the stereo harness. Also tested with other harness female pins and speaker cables and got same static.
  15. Speaker static

Static is there without any amplification regardless of the speaker (new or original) that is connected to that stereo output (left rear). Also connected other speakers and noise follows it. Noise is there when Bronco on or off, volume up or down. Noise stops when stereo is turned off. No other...
  16. Speaker static

Nope not what happened. The static is there regardless of what speaker is connected to with amp and without.
  17. Speaker static

Taking Bronco in for static coming from left rear speaker. I didn't hear it until I installed an amplifier and new speakers. I tested to make sure it was not my wiring or the amp by bypassing the amp and rewiring and static remained. I also tested with the original speaker and no amp. I had to...
  18. Amplifier remote turn-on lead power source

Yes I have one of those but I don't like the popping sounds when turning off car and speakers turn off and amp does not. Everything is connected as properly but they will pop.
