I really wish Ford had kept the traditional tailgate. Surely, I am not alone in this. It seems to be a better, stronger, more functional design. They could opt the spare tire on the underside or on an additional swing arm mount like the attached pics. Thoughts?

I too am a 2.3 manual order and have yet to take delivery/or be scheduled for that matter. My biggest concern right now is wondering how well the 2.3 will do at Elevation 5000-12000 ft (Colorado/Utah) going up steep grades...
None of us will really know until after the deadline, which is the 16th.
Best info we have is from Ford themselves saying a soft top will increase your chances of earlier build.

No build date yet here either. 7/13 reservation. Switched mine to soft top on Monday. 4dr Badlands. Lux. Tow. Non squatch..

That's horrible about your dealer. Name um and shame um. If it isn't what you wanted I wouldn't keep it. That's a lot of money to keep something you don't like. You can get your money back and then some for sure right now. Or hang onto it and trade it in later on once you see what upgrades...
