Could you? Yes. Should you? I personally would never. With gear, water, etc. Sure, there's probably a margin of safety with ratings, but I'd look for something around 2500# Max and that's pushing it (we need to think about towing performance as well). 2000# seems more reasonable. Of...
Wow, that's just nuts. Seems like it should be either a credit or just a swap option and not an additional charge. I forgot what a money-grab on a new vehicle can be (e.g. only citing like-for-like item swaps).
I'm debating if I can even afford the lower trims with the current engine lineup .... so, no, not really. Only if they offer a 3.5 for the same price as a 2.7 and we all know the answer to that ...
Because they need to insure their quality above and beyond domestics ... It's not a perfect equation, but it has some basis in reality. Domestics tend to throw sh!t on the wall and see what sticks.
It's not written in stone - and even if it was, it's always subject to change. Plus they're on social media to see how many suckers ... err potential buyers will pay $5k+ for s'quatch.
Since the IG response is "fall", I find it amusing that everyone is hinging their hopes on one persons tweet that it will happen before September 1. I wouldn't be surprised if it opens up Thanksgiving weekend .... (not to say that would also be a "disaster" ... but it's not to say it couldn't...
Having had daily driven a manual Willys Jeep, 80s Suburban, and BMW 3 series (that one is fun though), they're over rated. Automatic. But to each their own.
I personally do not want a "home theft key" left behind in my vehicle. Maybe we don't live in the greatest area, but I always remember someone in my office building getting their vehicle stolen, driven to their house, and using the remote to break into his house.
I received five email and one text. Boiler plate stuff ... like nobody was talking to each other as it was from all different people at the same dealership. I responded to two of the emails and the text. Zero response from there.
Aside from the general published weight limit, I'd be mainly concerned about premature engine wear (e.g. 100k miles or less) if you tow all the time on a 4 cylinder engine (not sure about the transmission though).
