the issue was the sealant they use to adhere the windshield to the vehicle so yes i would say putting in a new windshield solves the issue

they seemed to have one because i went as far as "schedule the appt" to have them come and do it and they could come on tues the 5th to do it luckily i didn't wind up needing it until i drive one mile tomorrow and probably crack my windshield with a pebble!

My dealer said the same thing- told me he's having his best glass guy do it and they usually don't break but occasionally does- don't think it's 50% of the time but it's higher than 0 so it will happen to some of us i guess!

Not sure if it’s state or federal but the recall itself is a “stop sale” from ford I was told

Just a heads up if you have the recall there is no getting the vehicle before it is repaired. This is just how it works they are not allowed to sell it to you. If you check with your vin and you have the recall you now have to wait for the repair just like me.

yes i believe if you check your vin and youre one of the recalls then you will not get your vehicle until this is repaired

Yes- my dealer will call me tomorrow afternoon to let me know if the repair worked or if i'm screwed waiting on a replacement windshield- how could anyone be optimistic at this point in the process?
