When I was in Arizona I didn't have a real hard or soft top on my Jeep for near a year. I lived in a not so great area, used to park it at the girlfriend's apartment complex (still no real top on the Jeep) and I never had trouble. Never even saw signs of people messing with the interior of the...
I think some might depend on the type of off-roading. All of my serious off-roading was in Arizona, so rock crawling. Out there, short wheelbases worked well because of the better break-over angle, less belly rubbing on the rocks.
Yeah - I plan on going the X-Plan route and probably have at least one credit union type financing option in the back pocket.
Normally, I feel pretty good going in to buy a car as I have no problem walking off a car lot if I don't think I'm getting a good deal, as there are plenty of others...
In this case, I would say the dealer has the leverage. I mean, choose the right dealer so you can get the X-plan and stuff, but beyond that, if you try to play hardball, there's probably a dozen people or more at your local dealer ready to buy anything that hits the showroom floor from any...
I'm going 2-door. I like the looks and shorter wheelbase. I think I could get away with 33's on a 2-door if I decide not to do 35's.
I have kids (teens), but not too worried as we have a family hauler if we want all four of us to travel in more comfort.
As for value, I think I've seen more...
It has admittedly been a while since I've wheeled seriously - but I really liked being able to articulate well and keep tires on the ground in my AZ rock crawling days. I could get through a lot of places with only 31's and a 2.5" lift. 33's and a 4" lift on a YJ would have been nice of course...
I suspect the aftermarket will handle some of this. But I assume if Ford is selling 35's the gate will be good enough to handle 35's, so not too worried about rolling off the dealer's lot.
My YJ had a tire mounted to the swing gate and so does my Liberty (stop laughing) and it never posed an...
I can only hope this is true. I would like sway-bar disconnect as the family and I hope to be back in Arizona one day and it would be useful out there!
I'm down to the sway bar disconnect being the big factor for me between the BD and Badlands.
With the old YJ in AZ, I just disconnected the...
This! If my Ford Bronco isn't loud with tire noise, wind noise, and wander a bit on the road - I will be sorely disappointed.
When I had my old YJ in AZ, it was lifted, locked (like all the time, not auto-lockers), and no sway bars - it was an adventure just going to work, locker jerking the...
I have no problem with vinyl seats. My old YJ had them and I never had to worry in the slightest about being caught in the rain with the top off (and I ran topless for a year plus in Arizona - even through monsoon season).
For a vehicle that can go topless, I don't ever want to have to worry...
I'm glad to see this thread! No RV yet, but my wife and I have been talking about it. I currently have a Jeep that we could flat tow but wasn't sure about the Bronco. So glad to see that it will likely be able to be flat towed.
I already told my wife - Moab - here we come!!! :D
Yep - we like to get out kayaking fairly frequently. We own three recreational kayaks - my wife and I are always up for it and sometimes the daughter likes to go as well.
Man - if I can't hear my tires rolling down the road I'm disappointed. The best upgrade I ever did for my Jeep Liberty (don't laugh) was putting some aggressive all-terrain on it. Now it sounds like a real Jeep rolling down the street.
This Bronco better ride like a real Bronco and sound as...
I had a YJ in Arizona (so not a lot of rain, but some), I never really had a problem with the hardtop leaking. With that said, I ran up to a year at a time with no hard top and just bikini top (through monsoons and snow).
So I might have been biased - as the hardtop always protected me more...
The thing is with a vehicle that can go topless, carpet sucks. For muddy boots and such, Weather Tech is great - they're (well a knock-off) what I use in my Jeep Liberty with carpet. Makes clean-up after muddy boots super easy and the carpet stays nice and clean.
But with a vehicle that can go...
