I might get flamed for this. Moab is spectacular without ever getting off the road. If you do go offroad you can go from tame to insane. You've studied up on that. But if you have time for other stuff Arches National Park is a must--do the short hike up to Delicate Arch. That's a half-day...
They're M8 bolts. Don't try to go to 29.5. That's enough to shear them. I found that out the hard way. After I got the sheared bolt out with an extractor I torqued to 18 ft-lbs and it's fine.
Shouldn't be a problem. Front is easier than rear but it's all pretty straightforward. Put them together (yes assembly is required) before you go out. Watch the install video a couple times and make sure you have the tools you need.
AI says: The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act generally protects consumers from having their vehicle warranties voided simply for using aftermarket parts. Manufacturers can only deny warranty coverage if they can prove the aftermarket part directly caused the defect. This means a dealership cannot...
An earlier post saved me from the same fate. I installed the Turn reinforcement with the gate flat on the ground and starting those threads so carefully it looked like brain surgery.
I just installed the FP diff cover and dutifully followed the enclosed instructions, which say to torque those M8 bolts to 29.5 ft-lb, which sheared one flush with the housing.... aargh.
Got it out with an extractor but the other torque specs say 177 in-lbs (14.8 ft-lbs) plus 25 degrees...
I'd love to have those ditch lights facing about 45 degrees out and activated by each turn signal to come on with the blinker, but with a toggle to select that feature so they don't do that all the time.
I just installed the RPG 1-1/2 collars on my 24 two-door BL SAS. It turned out to be a little more challenging than I expected but it turned out well. I had to remove a lot of stuff that I had never done before--on the front that is the caliper, rotor, ball joint, tie rod, axle nut, push the...
A little follow-up. Don't mash the brake with the caliper off. I was wanting to turn to full lock to make some room. Muscle memory took over when I jumped in to turn the wheel. Blew up the caliper and got about a gallon of brake fluid on the floor. Rookie mistake.
