It sounds like you may have over tightened them. You want them snug, but that's it. I used hand tools to ensure they weren't over tightened either.

These aren’t mounted on the lugs. They’re mounted directly to the spare tire holder with the brackets the pods come with. I could remove my spare tire with ease with no removal of the pods. Just wanted to clarify that in case others were interested.

Thanks. At the time there weren’t many options available, and I wanted a low-profile look. Couple LED pods + strobing harness off Amazon and that’s all it took. Worked for my needs, but would be dependant on wheel design. Most folks seem to have OEM though.

When I had my Bronco I had a couple Baja Design's pods installed. Wasn't an awkward location, and gives a clean "hidden" look.

Did @RCI Offroad say that you need to install another part in order for it to support the awning weight? Seems strange it would fail twice, unless some additional part wasn’t installed.

I wish Ford went with a bit darker “desert sand” colour. This looks more like an off-white. Maybe it looks better in-person.

Looks great! I did a similar install of LED lights on my Silverado years ago. Although some light was blocked by the grill, it was minimal. I like the ”hidden” look, which also deters theft. Well done!
