  1. Phone mount damaged dash

You'll probably feel a bit like Robbie Hart when I say this, but it's worth mentioning not only for you for the future, but others reading this. I highly recommend getting a device rail for your dash, as that is what the Ford engineers designed it for. The rail lets you attach one or several...
  2. Wide vs Narrow Tires for offroad performance -- a scientific comparison

This is how I will explain this to my wife when I get my third set of tires. I've got the KO2s for off-road and smaller, lighter basic ATs for street use, and plans to get some 35s for improved rock crawling. But I'll have to absolutely draw a line at three sets if I want to stay out of...
  3. The first EVER Bronco DIY Painted Starlight Dashboard (aka Dopamine Dashboard)

I have a fear of permanently changing parts. Heck, even when I swapped out the stock Badlands grille for the Heritage, I still saved the original. :) If I were to do something like this, I would end up sourcing an OEM dash panel from a totaled Bronco. But you lost me at individually running...
  4. Recall: Rear Shock Absorber External Reservoir Corrosion (Safety Recall 25S01 - January 21, 2025)

True, but I think these are just the Bilstein shocks with the reservoir that people have reported issues with. You've got the Fox shocks I think, which haven't had any reported issues, at least that I've seen.
  5. Recall: Rear Shock Absorber External Reservoir Corrosion (Safety Recall 25S01 - January 21, 2025)

Agreed. Toyota has plenty, too. When you are dealing with suppliers, you have limited control. These are Bilstein shocks, and it is a reputable company. I'm not bothered by any recall that doesn't prevent me from driving/using my vehicle until it gets fixed. A recall isn't always a big deal. I...
  6. Recall: Rear Shock Absorber External Reservoir Corrosion (Safety Recall 25S01 - January 21, 2025)

I feel like you are going to run into: "If we say we put them on your vehicle, we have to put them on your vehicle. If we put them on and take them off, even for a minute, they are used and the value of used shocks is nearly nothing."
  7. Recall: Rear Shock Absorber External Reservoir Corrosion (Safety Recall 25S01 - January 21, 2025)

If they did, I'd probably pay to have the fronts upgraded to match, so it could be a win-win. :)
  8. Recall: Rear Shock Absorber External Reservoir Corrosion (Safety Recall 25S01 - January 21, 2025)

You might have to have the dealer visually inspect your vehicle under the recall so they can note that it is not applicable/close it out for your VIN. Ford may require them to see rather than simply take the customer's word.
  9. Recall: Rear Shock Absorber External Reservoir Corrosion (Safety Recall 25S01 - January 21, 2025)

I would bet that the dealers are going to be the first recipients of the replacement shocks so that they can sell those vehicles sooner.

  12. How deep (water crossing) can the Bronco go? My latest adventure 🎥

You never said if this little guy made it back alive. 😄 I think everyone wants to play in the mud at least once, but I gave it up after having to do the cleanup after this. I can't even imagine trying to get stinky pond water smell out of the inside.
  13. The new 50th anniversary Bronco Ranger Edition.

I followed the G6 Heritage style. Are you wanting to try to be more authentic to the G1 Bronco or just inspired? As for the roof, some have painted and haven’t had any issues yet. I did a wrap for a few different reasons and it has also been fine. If you want to do some G1-style stripes, any...

  15. This is what a 2-door Bronco Raptor would look like!

I used to think the Sasquatch flares were too wide. When the Raptor came out, I was forced to re-evaluate my position. :)
  16. 7Mile Rim Trip Moab Utah.

When did 255 or 265-series become pizza cutters, LOL? I'm old. 😄
  17. DIY 2.7L Engine Oil Change - Save $$ and Learn Your Pony! 🐎

Oof. :) Had the dealer do those at 50K when I started hearing about how they break. Fortunately, by that time, the two-piece plugs were updated to a one-piece design. But that #4 cylinder isn't fun. There's stuff mounted to the firewall and some hoses that need to be moved out of the way to...
  18. 7Mile Rim Trip Moab Utah.

Ha, I saw that pic and I said, "That looks just like this:" 😄
  19. 7Mile Rim Trip Moab Utah.

When I went two years ago, we didn't do Wipeout hill. We went east from the Red Cliffs Lodge to (I believe) the Dome Plateau trailhead. We did go up a fairly steep hill (maybe 24 degrees IIRC), but I'm certain it wasn't Sevenmile Rim because that is in the complete opposite direction. I wonder...
