I installed a Rough Country Spare Tire Reinforcement plate on my Bronco today. Heading to Monterrey Peninsula Friday. Will Post Pics.

I was about to suggest: If you have the time, head down to Big Sur and check out old Coast Road that runs behind Bigby bridge for 10 miles down to Andrew Molera State Park entrance. It was open last weekend, but now the lower half is in an evacuation order zone due to the Timber fire. πŸ™ Anyway, it’s worth checking the status when you’re there

I plan to drive the PCH from The Monterrey Peninsula all the way to Santa Barbara on Monday if it is open. I am aware of the Big Sur fire. Hopefully the Fire Fighters get it under control this week, but I doubt it.

Hopefully, but yeah they have 2 major fires to deal with. Between fires and landslides, the full coastal route has been closed a long time sadly.

Seeing as you have the Stroppe and headed to SCW, you should track down Becca Weiss. She'll be there and works for Wayne Schmeekle who has the largest private Stroppe Bronco collection. I believe there will be a public tour/viewing of his collection during SCW. She posts on FB so you'll have to find details there.

Thanks.
I have an invite to that.
I came very close to buying a real stroppe a few years back, but they were getting to the collectable era where you don't own a vehhicle, you're just curating it, so I switched to zr2 blazers.
We've known of Stroppes all of our lives. I knew of his Mercs before I knew of his broncos.
To us; The trip to his collection equals a trip to Peterson.

Thank you for telling me of the event.
We'll be there.

I was in junior high school when Stroppe and Jones began to take the Baja races by storm and I became a lifelong Ford guy and lover of the Bronco. As a kid, I dreamed of racing the Baja 1000. Then I grew up and life went on. When they decided to bring the Bronco back, I was elated and signed up for a Badlands with Squatch package. that was 2021 and the delays resulted in my receiving a Golden Ticket for a Raptor. And incredibly the dealer I purchased it from sold it for sticker at a time when the first Raptor that I saw auctioned sold for $209,000.00. So without the dealer doing the right thing, I never would have been able to afford it back then. Mine is Code Orange and although many people would think it dumb to do, I put the original style "Baja by Stroppe" decals on the area of the Raptor where all other Broncos have their trim decals located. I did it to honor Stroppe and to the heritage of Baja racing that is embodied in the Raptor. I guess when it comes to the Bronco, its racing lineage and the way that Ford did right by the re-make, some kids never grow up!
