I'm happy with the K02, but sometimes go to snow country and it does rain in the desert, so better wet pavement traction is an appeal. Finally a tire that's 10 pounds lighter without sacrificing strength is appealing.

Never used the outpost, but I only run Nokian tires on my other cars in the winter. They are very good.

I Like The Outpost nAT. Looks great and wears great. Isn't loud and ride characteristics are really good. I went with the non LT P285/70R17s. I will go back to my spare set of 17" steelies with my oe takeoff tires for winter though. The skinny tire setup is way better in the snow.

I remember the studded and non-studded hakkas were already known that way in Anchorage in the late 90’s when I was there. I didn’t want to spend the money at the time and went with studded Coopers instead for my last set of AK tires. I pulled the studs out after driving back to VA in November and kept the de-studded tires on until spring. Glad I had them on for the snowy highways on the first leg of the trip through Canada.

I have been running the Outpost nAT in 285/70R17 116T for about 3-4k and I've been super happy with them. I was looking for something lighter than a K02/K03 and something that would drive well on road. They are pretty quiet on the highway and handle well.

I had Nokian Hakkapeliitta snow tires on a car years ago and they were unstoppable, so I was not concerned with the fact that they are relatively unknown in the US market.

Nokians are legit.

Their winter tires are absolutely the best on the market.

Whoever said they don’t have sas or wildtrack sizes is dead wrong. They offer both AT as well as winter tires in 315/70r17 and 285/70r17.

I currently have them on my car in 285/70r17 and they're pretty decent. Haven't tried them on snow yet but they're ok on dirt roads and mild rock crawling. They're super light and gives me good mpg. I get around 29mpg going 80-90kmh on the highway and 16mpg in city stop and go. They have a bit of a higher pitched noise that some don't like but I find them reasonably quiet and don't mind it. The only downside I find is they look narrower than falkens or bfgs. I've concluded due to a combo of the tread pattern and the way they sit makes them look like that. They kind of bulge out in the middle so the road dirt creates a narrower contact patch on the tire and makes it look narrow.

I was thinking about the non LT version. The optimum pressure seems to be 36 PSI which means using ForeSCAN to change the TPMS setting.

Just installed the Nokian Outpost nAT on my OBX after putting 70k on the factory rubber. These are more aggressive looking, but somehow much quieter that the stock ones. Will know more when the winter rolls around, but for my daily-driver they are great so far!

I can only compare them to the OEM general grabbers I had. They're not louder per say but different frequency. Higher pitched rather than a low rumble. Sound more like wind noise than tire noise. At highway speed the wind noise from the top drowned out any tire noise for me.

Also one thing I noticed was they had noticeable wear in the front when I didn't air down and went down 30kms on a rocky dirt road. Airing down to 25psi they didn't have any wear off road. Not sure if it's the softer compound that causes this.
