Not a fan of going to a dealer at all
Recall states something about a harness in the engine bay. I’m sure some of you may have had this done. Does anyone know which wire or harness ?

If you aren't familiar with the Ford Recall process by now, you may as well buckle up for a long ride.

That's so yesterday. We are already on a recall where the fender flares possibly fall off at highway speeds brother. Apparently the wiring harness is somewhere on the passenger side of the engine compartment. This is my second Bronco and knock on wood, I have not turned into Ghost Rider as of yet.

I gave my engine bay a quick look on the passenger's top side and didn't see anything super alarming. Only thing I saw was the spot pictured below. Pretty sure that's not "the one" causing the recall as there's not really anything surrounding that spot to catch on fire.

Maybe someone in the big thread found the problem but I didn't feel like reading through 30 or 40 pages of "me too" replies.

Quickly scan the thread. Among the “me too scanned my engine bay posts”, someone posted a link to the actual Ford recall documentation and repair process PDF, including photos and a parts list.

The wiring harness areas of concern are behind and beneath the coolant recovery bottle, and under both hood hinges.

Thank you and apologies, thought that was a link to the thread in its entirety. I may just tackle this myself for peace of mind. Just need to source some high temp split loom.

Amazon has the high temperature convolute tubing with the high temp tracer marking, in all three sizes, as well as the chloroplast tape.

In the 31-page thread, someone (maybe me?) points out that even if you apply a fix yourself, you’re still going to have to ‘clear the recall’ with Ford, which will mean inspection at least. If (someone pointed out), God forbid, you have an engine fire (which could be totally unrelated) with an open recall that you have not cleared, that’s not going to be good for your insurance payout. However ridiculous the reality, telling your insurance company that ‘you fixed it yourself‘ is probably not going to go over super well.

Definitely would go through the recall but in the meantime, I'm going to check the wires in question and protect them while I wait for a remedy.
