On my '23 Bronco BD (original subwoofer delete), I have the Ford Focus amp with a Kicker 6.5". Polk DB402 in the dash and pods. Memphis Audio mid-bass in the kick panels. I am running a quality LOC under the steering wheel Stinger marine 4-channel amp under the drivers seat to drive the dash speakers and kick panels independently. Outside of the t-harness, I did all the wiring. Outside of wiring supplies I am under $1200 with sound that is much, much better than stock.I'm starting to think that on a 2025+ base sound system, it's just not worth spending money on a Kicker Key 200.4 (plus wiring harness), Alpine S2s all the way around, including 6.5s in pods, and a powered sub. It sounds like the acoustics and road noise will make any improvements over the stock setup marginal at best. Am I wrong for thinking this?
I did this in phases -- first phase was the sub and the DB402's. Second phase was the amp and mid-bass drivers. I would rate each phase as having the same level of improvement.
Everything except the LOC is marine water resistant. Hopefully the LOC is well-shielded under the steering wheel. Putting non-water resistant speakers in a vehicle with a removable top is not the smartest idea IMO.
