Well. It feels good to be back on B6G! At long last I have my Bronco - a 2025 Marsh Gray Outer Banks with Sasquatch. It has been a long time coming since watching the Bronco release on youtube during the pandemic. For those of you interested I thought I'd share my storied history with Bronco ownership, and how I ended up here, back on Bronco6G.

July 13th, 2020: Sitting in the living room of my in-laws house during the dog days of summer I, like many of you, watched Ford release the gen 6 Bronco and after seeing how awesome it was, and how all of the rumors were coming together I knew I had to have one.

July 14th, 2020: After battling the servers all night and racing to place an early reservation I was finally able to get through the system and place my $100 reservation on a Bronco through my local Ford dealer in Upstate, NY. I could already feel the wind in my hair as I tackled the class IV roads of Vermont and the winding roads of the Adirondacks.

November 20th, 2020: My wife lost her job during the pandemic, and my family business was struggling to stay afloat. Instead of laying off long term employees I decided to take a step back from the business and start a new chapter in Florida. My wife and I packed our bags and loaded up a 26' trailer and moved to Sarasota, FL

December, 2020: I don't remember the exact date, but I received an email from Ford stating "Bronco Timing Update", and that the order banks would soon be open. By this time Bronco rumors continued to swirl and the internet was active with enthusiasts chatting about how they would spec their trucks. By this time I knew that my reservation (which was for an outer banks) would be converted to an order for a two door Badlands. Now living by the beach I had to have the wash out floors and marine grade vinyl seats.

January 15th, 2021: Bronco Order Window Opening Soon! My ford salesperson, and personal friend and I stayed in touch every week talking about when the order banks would open. We went back and forth on options and I finally decided what I was going to order. A 2-door badlands, area 51, lux package, tow package, and 2.7L ecoboost.

January 20th, 2021: I received my Ford confirmation email: Your 2021 badlands has been ordered!

February - March, 2021: I am quite active on the 6G forum. There are talks with members from all over hearing of the 7 deadly sins. I am getting nervous because I had pretty much every one. Chip shortages, supply chain constraints on tow packages and modules, rumors flying that Webasto was having difficulty producing the MIC hard tops. I was just HOPING I would get my Bronco for the summer.

March 17th, 2021: I don't remember WHAT it was, but there was something that needed to be modified or added to Bronco orders by mid-March 2021 (I think it was a free sound deadening headliner?), but whatever it was I called my buddy at my Ford dealer back in Upstate, NY and said "hey can you change this to my order? There is a deadline for this to be added, and you should let your other Bronco customers know." He had know idea what he was talking about, but reached out to his RSM and the forums were right! He text me and thanked me for the heads up.

March 18th, 2021: I got an email from my friend at the dealer that said "I got your Bronco moved up." I immediately called him and he said that because I helped out with the notification about (whatever it was that I had to tell him to do to my order) his RSM and the dealers owner gave me a golden ticket. My Bronco was going to be scheduled for early production! Oh baby I was so exicted.

April 15th, 2021: I received an email from Ford Motor Company that my Bronco was scheduled for production. My Bronco summer dreams were coming true.

June 7th, 2021: The Dominos pizza tracker in the Ford app showed that my Bronco was entering production.....

June 28th, 2021: Production schedule update #2. The Bronco was now slated to be built later in the month. No big deal, supply chain problems?

July 12th, 2021: Production schedule update #3. Pushed out once again. I think it was around this time that I got my first dump of Ford pass points for being an early reservation holder, and having patience (like many of you) throughout the journey.

July 12-16th, 2021: I got a text with a picture of a computer screen with a VIN and an order status. My Bronco was actually being produced!

July 16th, 2021: It was built! My Bronco somehow managed to escape the deadly sins, and against all odds a 2-door, 2.7L, MIC, Lux, Tow Badlands was on the ground in Michigan!

July 17th, 2021: I know had a delivery date in my Ford app. I sold my explorer to Carvana, and my wife and I booked one way tickets back home! We would fly to New York, get the Bronco and see both of our Dad's for their birthday the first week of August. A break-in road trip in our new Bronco would be the icing on the cake.

July 19th, 2021: Purgatory. My Ford app suddenly stopped showing the delivery date, and now just said "TBD". Um, what do I do? I called my dealer and he had know information. Said it must be held at the rail yard, and he would look into it.

July 20th, 2021: Bronco 6G will tell me what's going on! Rumors are swirling that MIC broncos are being held at the factory for a QC on the hard tops. I go down a rabbit hole on Webasto, and all things hard top.

July something, 2021: I need a car. With an unknown Bronco status, and my explorer gone we decide to buy a Tesla model Y. With everything going on I figured this will be a good commuter car for Florida, and should be easy to sell used for nearly what I paid for it or more once the Bronco gets delivered. Worst case we would keep it for a second car since we had free EV charging at our building in Florida, and it would save miles on the Bronco.

August - October, 2021: Dirt mountain. By this time I am with hundreds of others on 6G. Our Broncos are stranded on dirt mountain at the factory with no end in sight. A member on the inside was the most helpful person on 6G. Giving him your VIN and blend numbers he was doing the lord's work. Single handedly helping future Bronco owners out with their status.

November, 2021: I am now starting to doubt Bronco ownership. The talks of 2022 MY Broncos, new colors, and stories of owners are casting doubt on my decision. Should I have opted for the 4-door? Did I mess up by not getting SAS? Was the fuel tank size in the 2-door going to become annoying?

November 2nd, 2021: I received an email from Ford saying "Your Bronco has rolled off the assembly line." Well that's odd -I know it was built in July. When I saved the picture of my Bronco from that email it actually assigned it in my camera roll as July 16th LOL! But there she was! All of my doubts and reservations were gone. Bronco time baby!

November 4th, 2021: At 1:09pm I receive a text from my buddy in New York at the dealer. My Bronco is outside on the carrier! I immediately started looking at flights to Albany, and sent a text to my team at work that I was going to take a few days PTO to get the Bronco.

November 4th, 2021: At 3:28pm I receive a text that the Bronco is in the shop getting the PDI. He said "Joe there is a problem with the Bronco." I knew he was kidding! He had to be joking, right? I called him and said "don't do this to me". My Bronco was delivered with an 8" drip down the hood. A massive paint defect on a truck that had sat outside in Michigan for 5 months for "quality control." I couldn't believe it.

November 5th, 2021: I am fuming. I decide F this. I am done with Bronco ownership. I don't even want the truck -it's cursed!

November 6th, 2021: We agree to sell the Bronco at "a market price" and I move on from the 2021 Badlands. Bittersweet.

January 15th, 2022: I decide to take my Bronco funds and buy a BMW M4 Competition. I loved that car. I got a new toy and start going to cars and coffee, and the modding begins.

January, 2022 - May 2026: I never really regretted not getting the Bronco, but something about them on the road. Every time I would see a Bronco I would remember my story. That is a bad ass rig.

May 2026: I see a Marsh Gray 4-door SAS Bronco and something hit me. That is an amazing color. Maaaaaybe I should go on Autotrader. I begin searching dealer inventory for a new, 2026 Bronco. Employee pricing is going on and I am seeing decent discounts. I find a local dealer that has a Marsh gray, 4-door, OBX, SAS, LUX, MIC, 2.3L Bronco in-stock. I tell myself: Self, you're buying this.

June 15th, 2026: The Marsh Gray OBX is still at the dealer. I have now convinced myself to buy it. I went to the dealer and drove it. I was impressed by the 2.3L but kept thinking maybe I should keep looking for a 2.7L. The dealer offers to dealer swap one, but the best pricing is on the one they had on the lot. I reach back out to my original dealer from 2021 in Upstate NY (I forgot to mention in 2022 I moved to New Jersey for work). That dealer is only about 3 hours away. I get a text back that they can get me the exact Marsh Gray truck I want with the 2.7L. MSRP was ~$65K. My price: $59,254.00. I ask the dealer that was local what they could do on the 2.3L and he says something along the lines of $57K. I decide I am just going to grab the 2.3L truck that I drove since I know it was perfect, and its 30 minutes from me. I tell the sales guy I will be there Wednesday afternoon and we will do the deal.

June 17th, 2026: It's Bronco day! I had some work meeting in the morning, but my plan was to take the afternoon off and drive to the dealer and buy the Bronco. I decide to check my emails around lunch one last time, and I see an autotrader alert that a new Bronco in my area matches my search. I click the link and what pops up: A 2025 Marsh Gray Outer banks. Sasquatch package, lux, headliner, and the 2.7L. It has a September 25 build date, and only showed 3,964 miles. I couldn't believe what I was looking at! This is my truck, and it's barely used, and it was $51,995! I call the dealer and tell them I will be there in 30 minutes. If the Bronco didn't look like it did in the pictures I would just continue on my merry way and buy the new one. Welp. It was perfect. Everything I had wanted and at an incredible price.

June 17th, 2026: I drove home in my new (to me) Bronco. Damn, I love this truck!

TL; DR: I was a day one res holder who went through the tumultuous journey of waiting, ordering, waiting, waiting, and then ultimately walked away form my 2021 2 door badlands only to buy a 2025 Marsh Gray OBX in June of 2026 to finally kick off my Bronco stewardship!

Thanks for reading.

You had one crazy experience.

I waited it out, I knew I would wait 2 years to let the bugs get worked out then I would start shopping.
‘24 came and I finally picked up my new Bronco.

Glad you made it back.

It might make you feel even better knowing my '22 2-door WT I bought used in summer of '24, a vehicle I love more than an inanimate object should ever be loved, has seven open recalls at the moment. I bet your '25 doesn't have any....yet.

You certainly documented yours better than mine.

I pre-ordered on the website in 2020, got all the update emails for a long time then nothing. Looked online and the pre-order website was all messed up but my reservation was still there. Well 6 months went by, there was already a bunch of news on this forum about people getting their reservations cancelled (some had 2) and were never notified. I got notified, but I was completely over it. I wanted the galaxy blue really badly and they got rid of it.

2021 did the same thing, the reservations got overloaded, mine was cancelled but on the other hand they notified me earlier. Talked to a Ford dealership about what stock they would have in and they claimed a 3 page waiting list for the 2 they were getting in, none were BL, both were the four cylinder. I got spammed by one of the dealerships so bad, they were trying to sell me on a bronco sport. I didn't answer any phone calls from their prefix for years.

2022 my pre-order didn't even last a week and when it did I noticed the 2023 MME (Mustang Mach e) opened up and the wife and I fell in love with the California Route 1 in smoked blue.

3 years later we decided to get the 2026 badlands which was pretty easy to locate by then.

I didn’t have nearly the same experience as you did but I, too, was a Day 0 reservation holder but I eventually forfeited our reservation when we had to relocate from Florida to Illinois. My main reason for wanting the Bronco was the open-air experience… six weeks out of the year in Illinois version six months was a real show stopper. Once we got word we were moving back south, I sought out and found the perfect Bronco.

It was quite the journey for not only me but my son who had a Bronco-themed birthday in July 2021 and got his first Bronco before me.

The only issue I’ve ran into since getting our Bronco two months ago was the fact the Bronco Off-Rodeo has an age restriction so my nine year old can’t go. I reached out to see if I could do anything to waive that requirement but no such luck… total bummer factor.
