I installed the Ford performance 4 aux switch : M9100BR. I can answer any questions about the install (easy). The question I have is about the connection marked "A7" with a two-conductor end. What's it for? The instruction say "for future use". Does that mean it does not currently have a use?

We bought the OEM 4 switch kit M-9100-BR for @SlimerChick new 25 OBX since I also ordered the kit for my 26 Ranger Lariat. I did the install on the Ranger first which of course had nothing from the factory. But popping the hood on the Bronco had me surprised to find those wires on the engine harness.

So reading this thread is the consensus that those wires are just there but useless without other factory additions? So I would need M-9100-BR or the upfitter kit no matter what? There is no prexisting wiring going up to the ceiling console, correct? Just making sure we didn't make a mistake getting a kit we didn't need

Just installed this on my 2026 base and it wasn’t too bad. Worst part was getting the driver side sun visor to line up to mount back in place. It seems you abandon the existing wires in your engine bay and use the new bundle attached to the wiring harness you get. A pair of thicker gauge wires go up to the roof for a light bar, and three circuits are left for front mounted lights. I did get a weird battery message about charging system but I figured it was from leaving my battery unhooked overnight. The switches still worked with ignition off like someone mentioned before. I did lock my car and it looks like they did turn off though. I haven’t hooked up any lights yet.
