You make a good point here about the Raptor engine and power, but let's look a bit deeper.I like Filson (bomb proof gear) and like the collab and the result.
That said, I'm quite surprised they not only gave it the Raptors 3.0, but as per Fords official word (posted prior by @HighVelocity), are also giving it the exact same power as the Raptor (418 hp).
It's my observation that brands are extremely hesitant to dillute halo brand key features/specs. Sure they will use the naming and make lesser models (e.g. BMW M and Toyota TRD) but are careful not to fully encroach on thinks like engine, power, etc.
I imagine that the Braptor is about to get a real serious power bump, by that I do mean the long requested V8 and I'd bet that happens next year.
With the Bronco Filson being an actual trim and not special edition, I think Ford wanted to offer a high end option that isn't as "Hell Yeah!" as the Braptor, even in looks and size. Sure there are guys who love the ostentatious stance of the Braptor (me included), but a more subtle approach with high power and more refinement has it's market as well and that's what Filson allows.
When I think about and look at all of the Filson gear and clothing that I have, this is what I've been thinking when making these purchases over the last 10-12 years. Rugged quality so I"m not always in tech shirts and t-shirts when out in the woods. I wanted that old school, masculine, rugged gear that I could take and wear anywhere. No, I don't hike in Filson stuff, but I do camp and wheel in and with it during Fall and Winter especially.
A 2 Door Bronco Filson would have almost made me trade in as much as a 2 Door Braptor would. I like the set up in Green that much.
