That's what I figured when I saw the Filson announcement.

Calling it now...this will be the Ford Bronco Platinum. Contrast stitched dash and eggcrate grille are already in use in other Platinum models. And yes, they will sell. Mostly to SAHM and country club wives. Same group that buys G-Wagons and never takes them off-road. It's all about the features and the looks.

I dont know of many ladies that would swap the perceived status of $100-300K SUVs for a Bronco in any trim, anywhere (excl billionaires and celebreties) except Europe and Asia, where Bronco is far more rare and special than any Lambo, Porsche, Gwagon etc...

Dirt bikers always get a laugh on DOT 5500 lb+ (w extras) vehicles lumbering off road so excruciatingly slow.....and the carnage of damage, broken, stuck, and stranded, and burnt out vehicles. Frankly, its way too bumpy in Bronco VS peoperly calibrated dirt bike and few want to spend $15K on calibrated Bronco suspension.

I grew up in farm country recklessly abusing farm truck big block 4 X 4s in all kinds of terrain and blasting down gravel roads at 100 MPH so I do understand the alure of offroad vision.
