Whhats wrong with a couple 8" subs driven properly?
I was thinking of JL's 2 X 8" powered subwoofer box used as down firing. Just use the dimensions shown here and build the box around it.

@margareedaville the carpet you used looks like a pretty good match to the factory floor/seat backs. have a link?

edit: @22OBX your platform carpet also looks good. have a link?

Can I ask where you brought your power wire through to the cargo area and where you grounded your amp? Thanks

The easiest route I found was through the drivers side footwell, route the wire across the vehicle under the dash, then back through the passenger side wire tray under the door sills, and into the cargo area. There is an obvious grounding point under the passenger side cargo area plastic where the factory sub-woofer lives.

That seemed to be the most sensible route for me.

Thank you for sharing! I'm going to give this a shot in my 4-door with the Morel P124D I just purchased:

https://3dviewer.net/#model=https:/...ey=rfbuukfjgjhl3mg404bhp1njf&st=8vxzkbbe&dl=0

I plan to build the sub enclosure separately first to measure its response. From there, I'll create the surrounding box and amp rack and retest the setup. If all is good, I'll relocate my two amps from under the quarter panel to allow for better access as I continue to tinker with the sound system.

I'm adding the extra set of internal baffles on the left and right sides of the sub enclosure to get the net internal volume to what Morel recommends at 0.8 cubic feet:

This side will be up against the back seats. Hopefully, the airflow (or lack thereof) between the back seats, through the amp rack, and ultimately into the tailgate doesn't affect the sound of the sub in any unusual way.
