How many forward gears can this thing get rubber in?

I turn 50 in August but have zero 4wd experience. It's been all Mustangs and Camaros. I was considering getting a second vehicle if works goes well enough and it seems pointless to have two Mustangs so maybe one of these instead. It would be the Badlands as I only drive manual and the base has open diffs.

So anyway if I powershift this pig what can I expect rubber-wise? I guess with the big 33's I don't guess much. I suppose these are made for a different type of fun. TIA

Not much, if at all, with a 2.3/7MT.
You’re gonna need a different vehicle.
Or at least a 2.7 with some decent modifications.

But to answer his question, even if I brake-torque the heck out of the 2.7 it barely chirps them out of the hole. It's quick off the line but that's not what it's built for.

If he wants a tire-smoking SUV, the Durango would be his best choice, in the SRT trim. If he wants a manual...there isn't one in existence that will do what he wants.

I have two 2 doors. One has the 2.7 with the automatic and the other has the seven speed manual with the four-cylinder. It’s adequate but the 2.7 is a rocket. If you could get enough traction with the 2.7 in the short wheelbase two door, it would easily lift the front tires off the ground. Unfortunately, it breaks the rear tires loose easily.

So, you already knew the proper intent of Bronco, but at the moment, you don't have the experience.

Like you, I only drive manuals and have owned a several sports cars and motorcycles.
I don't think you will be disappointed in the 2.3 MT Bronco -- I am certainly very happy with it.
Now I'm having fun learning something more challenging than shredding rubber on asphalt.

And while you live where you don't get to play in the snow, you live near beaches and trails that I spent 2 days driving to enjoy. Plus there are plenty of Bronco owners in this forum that can show you the way.

At 50 you are too old for that. Maybe get a Lincoln Towncar
