It pops out very easily from inside. Spray a little windex on it from under the hood and it comes out very easily. Also much easier to put back in from inside. Windex or dawnare your friend. Also a drop of dawn on the small slit will make pulling the wire a little easier.

I believe the one on the far left is running to my light bar. The middle two go to the ARB compressor, and on the far right I have an on-board trickle charger.

For the negative terminal, I'd connect on the bolt where the BMS is connected, like below.

Thank you!!

Doing my Heretic install tomorrow - really appreciate this thread! @timrobporter Was there anything else that would be good to know? Thanks!
It was pretty straight forward once getting the wire through the grommet. That was hard and it was a little confusing how to run the wire at the top of the roof but I just poked a hole on the v notch and it’s been fine. Light bar is bright as hell!

In case you prefer to run your wires through the passenger side I used the rubber pass through on the passenger side below/behind the coolant reservoir (it has a mate on the driver side next to the passthrough you referenced). I had to use some tin snips to cut the end off the nipple (a bit awkward and have to do it blind) and then taped some 550 cord to a long screw driver and poked it through from behind the glove box (you'll see a black molded circle on the top of the interior side of the rubber pass through, thats the nipple) and used the 550 cord to pull my wires through.
I'd imagine cutting the end off of a nipple would indeed be a bit awkward.

Just a heads up, the big grommet on the driver's side is for the clutch... So manual transmission folks won't have that option.
Yup, I've used that one extensively as a sealed wire pass through.

Pulling out the little oval grommet on the driver side is super easy to then cut a slit into. I found this grommet on Amazon that i’ll probably give a try: https://a.co/d/00hPPLD7
