I feel your pain. Was not one of my finest moments, all things considered it got me my Heritage.

Cars, even Fords, not lasting at least ~200k (if reasonably maintained and not driven in extreme ways) hasn't been a thing for at least 30 years.

There are certainly individual vehicles that fail well before that, and even some models/engines that have proven to be poorly designed even in that time, but those are the exceptions that prove the rule.

There are also some vehicles that die at 60k because they are only on their third oil change, but that's another matter.

for the 2.3s with direct injection, when does carbon buildup start to be an issue? I take good care of vehicles so hope for 200k out of my bronco, maybe I can get it to 320k like my ‘94 Toyota pickup has that’s still running strong.

We got over 95k on my wife's 2022 black diamond with the 2.3 no issues at all with it. Oil changes and good basic maintenance make a world of difference.

I went the wrong direction with that.
My wife's Bronco past 37k at 15 months old and so 100k after 3 1/3rd years on less as she is driving more recently. For us the first sign of something good or bad is clutch replacement. 120k is average anything less is BAD and if we get 175k like we did in the XTerra that is a very good sign.

Well I got 300k out of my first clutch. This manual feels good , but not as rugged as the FJ, of that makes sense.

One of the aspects of the Bronco that helped me to decide to pay the new car tax instead of a used one, was the ability for the frame and body to easily be separated. When I saw that picture, I knew as long as the rest of the car was fine, I could just replace the engine once it wears out without too much hassle. I really like the modular aspect of the car, which means "fixable" and not a "throw away" car. I have every intention of keeping mine for basically the rest of my life and pass it down to my son one day (I'm 52). But I do anticipate bumping it from the daily driver position at some point. Not that it isn't a worthy daily driver / commuter, but at some point I know I'll want some variation for the daily commute grind.

I’ve had 3 fords over past 30 years, all lasted well over 200k with no major issues. The Bronco should be fine for 200k.
Agree. i've had two F-150s back to back before my bronco. both had over 200,000 miles. the last one is still climbing. I sure hope it is equal to them.

Hit 100k this week.

I get sentimental about my automobiles because I drive them so much. This Bronco is no exception, I love it.

My observations:
- Still turn and look back at her all the time 4+ years in .
- When the sun is shining and the top is down and the music is up, Bronco puts a smile on your face. An incredible experience.
- On the flip side, driving long road trips with many ppl, the soft top is compromised but manageable. (It's a soft top and I expect this, just don't fool yourself and say it won't be something you notice.)
- A daily driver, a off-roader and convertible all in one. It does all three really well.

I've offroaded, towed, cross country with it. Everything but rock crawl.

I'm still in love. This will be the only car I attempt to keep forever.

Last I heard was check at around 60k. Simple enough maintenance to correct.

Hope for what? People been hitting 100K for a couple years now.
I'm hoping for 250K.
Concur...two of the Jags are just shy of 200K miles, the Miata odometer quit after 200K and is probably over 300K miles.

The F-Type was on its way to at least 200K when I rolled it last fall. It had 127K at the time.

Even my old 5.0LX coupe was over 400K miles when I sold it...

I've presently got over 230k on my Mustang GT. The V6 Mustang I had before it had 140k on it when I gave it to my sister, and she's still got it. Ford's earned my benefit of the doubt.

I had a 2018 Ford f150 with the 5.0 and the then new dual injection. It was a company truck, company gas, I drove it like I stole it to over 200k and it didn’t even burn oil, still got 19 mpg. I LOVE the 10 speed.
I a Ford guy now, before I was agnostic

I got 60k out of the clutch in my Wrangler Rubicon before it started making bad noises.
The tech said there was plenty of miles left on the plates, it was the bearing which had failed due to being a low quality part...

Back in the late 90's, my buddy had an old Fox Body mustang. We called it the Rustang, lived in Illinois and along the coast of NC for its entire life. it was a 4 cylinder, stick. That thing saw well past 200k miles on the original clutch!!
