Interesting place to mount it. I've been trying to figure out the best place.
How do you get power to it?
Also, I guess it it gets signal through your hardtop, it should work through my soft top.
Starlink will 100% work through a softtop.
Mine is Molle panel mounted & I've been using it daily for the past year, with an extra headliner in as well most of the time

Nice product @mohavecustom - as stated, finally an option at a reasonable cost.
I'm curious how it holds up to being bounced around offroad - have you done any testing with that for durability?

Thank you for this detail! What power configuration would you recommend? I currently use a dash mount but slide the mini up against the back area and the dash suction cups go in the roll bar. If that makes sense. The mini is snug against the roof and does get a bit hot. I’m getting a trailrax roof rack and am worried that will block the signal. Then when I put my tent on top, I’ll need to figure a mount for the mini there too. But right now I’m working on power. I honestly don’t understand when people talk about things like step up converters. I’ve been plugging it into the cigarette lighter in the back and it seems to work fine. Also, I think I need a battery so it doesn’t turn off when I turn the car off. Considering the peakdo. Thanks for your help. It’s much appreciated.
I run mine daily on a 100ah DrPrepare 12v LiFePo4 battery.
I have the battery plugged into the charger in the cargo area to charge while the vehicle is running & the starlink plugged into the battery so it works without the vehicle on.
I can get around 40 hours with that setup before needing to either drive more than my 1 mile commute to work or topping the battery off with a charger at home.

Oh ya, I use it out in the desert all the time. This thing is pretty overbuilt with thick ASA plastic. The only thing I've had to do is load up the threads with loctite, but the mount itself is solid.

Yes

Yes there is. Once the pole mount is attached to the mount, you can snap the Starlink on and off.
Great! Ordered yesterday and looking forward to getting it.

Even more importantly the rear vertical of the roll bar on the two door is at a much more vertical angle than the 4 door version. Meaning the angles the mount is attaching to would be completely wrong. (even without the holes you can drill and use riv-nuts).
🫤 bummer. I like the idea of it sitting back there. Oh well

I just ordered one, looking forward to trying it out. I had been looking at pulling the trigger on another mount, can't remember the company now but it was hundreds of dollars. Nice to see someone try a different mounting position.

Turn off the snow melt feature. That can toggle on and add heat.

I use my aux switch’s. The first 3 are good enough for power. The last few are not. You could do a simple in line switch off battery if you do not have the upfitter switches. And maybe mount the power under your steering wheel or where ever convenient

you do NOT need a converter. The power load is printed says on the back of mini I believe 9-35 volts. Been awhile since I looked. Folks using cigarette lighter power will run into power drop outs. You need to run heavy wire for the starlink. I believe 12 or 14 awg to your antenna. It’s not crazy big but beefier than the wire that’s in the bronco. The longer the run from battery the more voltage drop. And the mini is sensitive

try the tent and see if you need to move it. As long as there isn’t a large panel
Of metal blocking I think you will be surprised

I used a barrel port for starlink and mounted to roll bar trims next to air bags.
I will roll out a proper video soon and list parts and such on my YouTube channel. Thatbroncoguy.

I am
In process of showing how I mounted the mini. It’s extremely easy and robust. But would only work for hard tops. The set up mohavecustom made here in this thread is ideal and Slick for soft tops!

I looked at your Youtube Short for your mount. Looks intriguing!

Will it work for the standard size Starlink also?

This mount looks great!

I do have a question....... why did you decide to leave the starlink mini at an angle? I have been running one for a while (with Velcro and a bungee to my speaker pod)... and it seems like the orientation for the strongest signal is straight up horizontal with the roofline.

Keep it from getting too tall, and lower of center of gravity with the height and shape of the mount. The mount is actually flat on top, the pole mount from Starlink has a built in tilt. I don't find the angle vs flat tolerances matter too much anyhow.
