We love Broncos but… what’s the most annoying “small issue” with your Bronco?

Key fob panic alarm whiners: This can EASILY be disabled in forscan, they even have a simpe pre-canned function for it. Just effing do it.
Don’t mix up the complaints about the double honk when you leave the key in the truck with the complaints about the red button in the fob being ridiculously easy to activate in your pocket. (I actually find the double honk kind of useful).

if you have the secret Forescan setting to deactivate the red button on the fob PLEASE do share with the community!! 😵💫🤩🥳🤓

That d#^}€?’m fob needs a complete overhaul: HALF AS THICK & THE RED BUTTON RECESSED SO THAT IT REQUIRES A DELIBERATE PUSH

That’s actually a pretty slick setup.

Definitely giving off fighter pilot vibes — does it ever get distracting or pretty easy to adjust to?
I like it but wife hates it. We argue about it like how we set our thermostat in the house...I always lose....😪😪😪

Not talking major problems – just the stuff that slowly gets under your skin over time.

Could be:
  • windshield chips
  • Interior rattles
  • Road noise
  • Something random you didn’t expect
Curious what’s been the most annoying “little thing” for you so far.
Nothing when it comes to my stock Badlands.
As people start messing around w/them, w/bigger more aggressive tires and suspension lifts, that could be where the problems lie. Also too, hardtops are quieter than soft tops.

- Windshield Chips, both Broncos and Jeeps have the same issue. It's something you have to accept w/the design, though the new Jeeps do come w/Gorilla Glass which should hold up better.

Interior Rattles - I've never noticed them in either my Bronco nor in past Jeeps, but then again, I wasn't expecting to ride in a Cadillac either.

Road Noise - It's a Bronco, not a Cadillac. 🙄
If you want quiet, put both highway tires on and have some sound proofing done to help things if so desired.
Also too, a hardtop is quieter than a soft top.

The things I hate are all the worthless bells and whistles, like electric door locks, electric windows, electric transfer case, and especially, the electric parking brake.
I'm a "BIG" believer in making things simple, like they use to, oh like w/my Jeep CJ-7 which I had years ago w/its manual locking hubs and manual transmission.

Wind noise and lack of good internal storage compartment's, both of which are very minor in the scheme of things. I am surprised at the number of windshield chip reports. I drove the "green oval" brick, pictured in my Avatar, and never got one chip. (Ford owned Land Rover at the time). Up until I got my Badlands that Defender was the most capable 4x4 I had ever owned. The Bronco made some significant improvements over the Defender.
Hard to beat the cool factor of a Defender.

It's not a secret, it's right in the pre-canned routines in Forscan.

So much so that they are selling Knock off's (Grenadiers) for as much money as the Defender which has now been feminized and ruined and doesn't even look like a Defender.. But if you ever saw the newest jaguar ads you won't be surprised.

Connectivity fucking blows. It's a coin flip if it'll detect my phone. Unless I'm traveling & really need it to connect, then it more than likely won't.

How shit collects on the rear fenders --and in the winter they freeze up so you can't get the rear doors open.

I wasn't sure if disabling the button would also disable from turning off an alarm, like when the hood latch alarm false alarms. Instead of disabling with Forescan, I just printed a cover from MakerWorld that covers the panic button. That way I still can have access to the panic button if I did need it. Works well enough for me that I never followed up to figure out if the panic button still silences an active alarm.

Yea sometimes old school is just better. Especially coming from something like a CJ-7.

Feels like a lot of those “features” are great in theory, but just add complexity for people who’d rather keep things simple and mechanical.

And yeah, the windshield point comes up a lot with both Broncos and Jeeps. Between the angle and how they’re used, it’s kind of one of those things you end up dealing with.

It's very random. Some say it's a faulty hood latch, but I don't buy that. If that were the case, you would think the dash would intermittently light up with "hood open".
Oh yea you would think that. Or at least expect some kind of warning if it was actually the latch.

I have one window ( passenger rear) that has never behaved. It’s been relearned so often due to not wanting to close on auto up and automatically drops back down.. this window did this so much the dealer replaced the motor and regulator under warranty. Now that warranty has passed it continues to be a problem, but it’s honestly a mild annoyance and life could be much worse. That’s my only real gripe in 4.5 years and 38k miles which I’d say is not too bad.

other annoyance perhaps would be the number of recalls🤪
That’s actually a pretty solid track record overall. Especially for 4.5 years.

That window sounds like one of those things that just never quite gets sorted though…

And the recalls definitely keep things interesting too 😅

The whole experience with the rear hatch is a joke in my opinion. It’s so weird Ford thought that was some cool idea.

You can’t get at anything without lifting the hatch. It crushes the rear windows. Removing the rear panel…you hope you don’t break a clip. Even at full tilt it restricts cargo loading. I don’t know, I’m sure I’m in a great minority here but getting in the rear in my wrangler and even in my FJ40 was so simple to do.

I think for some odd reason engineers at ford think complex is impressive and a mark of great engineering. It’s completely the opposite in reality.

I do love the rest of the soft top and I’m actually swapping my hard top for the softie today. Nothings perfect but some things cause a person to scratch their heads. lol.
Yeah I get what you mean, been hearing a bit of that in this thread, people missing that simpler, more straightforward setup.

Sounds like it’s really the whole rear hatch experience that makes it frustrating day-to-day.

And coming from something like a Wrangler or FJ40, that difference probably stands out even more.
