Figured I’d share this here since we’ve had a lot of Bronco owners asking about this.

It’s actually been out for a while, but we never officially announced it on Bronco6G. Posting it now so there’s a dedicated place for questions, setups, etc. We’ll try to stay on top of everything here.

Also set up a 10% discount for the forum. Use code B6G

Honestly, this is one of those things that changes how you use your Bronco. I use it every day and it saves me ~15 minutes each time. That adds up fast, and I end up driving open-air way more often because it’s so easy.

The big idea is simple. You can open your Bronco without removing the panels.

How it works:
• FlipTop acts as a hinge between the front panels and middle section (or straight to the hard top on 2 Door)
• Flip the panels back
• On 4 Door, the middle section (with panels on it) slides back over the rear hard top
• Locks in with 4 locks + 2 safety latches

Takes a couple minutes, stays on the vehicle, and you can drive at any speed.

You never have to remove your panels, so you’re not dealing with storing them, bumping them, dropping them, or chipping them which is an expensive fix.

If you get stuck in the rain, it all goes back in seconds since everything’s already with you.

The roof rack mounts on the rear hard top. When you’re not sliding panels back, it just works like a normal low-profile roof rack.

Quick highlights:
• No drilling required for install
• No panel removal needed
• Works on 2DR + 4DR (FlipTop)
• Slides back + fully locks in place
• Safe at highway speeds
• No risk of panel damage from removal/storage
• Rack still usable for gear

If you like running open but don’t want the hassle, this makes a big difference.

Full system:

FlipTop only (2DR & 4DR):
https://www.ez4x4.com/b6g-fliptop

Roof rack only (4DR):
https://www.ez4x4.com/b6g-rack

Also works with our Hard Top Lift, which is the only one designed to handle the full weight of the entire system.

Happy to answer anything 👍

This is pretty cool and I love the concept. Question though, for those with painted tops, how does this prevent them from rubbing/scratching each other?

Anywhere there’s potential contact, we added protective padding so it’s not paint-on-paint!

Really like the concept of being able to store the middle roof panel on the Bronco.

Is there enough adjustability to the roof rack mounting brackets to accommodate a 4-door top that will have 40 mils of Line-X applied? Thanks.

I would prefer the cross bars on the rack have T slots. Also, has the rack been confirmed to fit all of the painted tops or does it have issues like other racks? I believe it is due to differing depths of the mounting slots of the hardtop.

Wish this was around when I spent way more on a soft top and all the parts needed to make it fit

Tempted to sell my soft top and buy this instead

Can you lift this altogether with a 4 point hoist for storage?

Very creative! I agree that this is the first time I’ve considered not having a soft top. Might be the best worlds!

Never announced it? There was a whole contest announcement thread about it a year or so ago.

Anyway, I have one (bought it when I saw the thread about it - see above). Works well and I'd get it again if/when I get another Bronco.

I'd recommend having side steps to be able to reach up to flip it. I'm not short but need to use the side steps to flip it on my FE with squatch. As noted, one can flip the front panels back in a few seconds. Just undo the internal latches, flip back, latch the back spring loaded clip that holds it down on the middle panel. Also, you can flip back JUST the panel above the driver. I did that on Saturday for a short trip to dump off recycling next town over. Easy.

Any concerns with scratching the painted top? I have a white top and want to keep it nice if possible. Also, why did you pass on the entire unit?
No concerns. Nothing touches the painted surface of the mid section. The clamps on roof have a padding on it. Should be good

Did not want anything perminant. Ery easy to just take off the front two panels. (Came from jeeps). Have a bag so it is always in also. Price
My reason for getting this was to keep roof with me

I thought I would share some thoughts on my experience with the EZ4x4 hinge and rack set here.

First, the installation of the flip panel hinges are simple and well explained in the video that you will find a link to in the instructions that come with them. I absolutely love these things! It changes the way the bronco works for me. I wanted a vehicle that I could take the top off easily and ride with the windows down, this makes that simple. if I have any complaint at all, it's that I'm at just the right height to flip the top lock back by standing on the ground, but there's a sharp edge on the rack that I cut my arm on every time that I do that. I'll eventually file that down and it won't be an issue.
Now, the rack on the back that stores the middle and front panels on top of it, I'm not totally sold on this just yet, but I have only barely had a chance to use it. Maybe I'll come back here and give a more thorough review after I've used it more than 30 minutes worth.
The instructions and video that you can find that come with the instructions will help you put this together and on top of your bronco, but they still need a little more detail to them. I would also suggest going ahead and grabbing the correct tools for installation and not rely on the ones that come with the kit, although to be fair, this can be totally assembled using the tools that come with it, except for needing a screwdriver for adjusting the hinges if you buy the two together. Overall, this feels like it may be the best purchase I could have made for the bronco. and I hope I get a lot of trouble free use out of this over the years.

on a side note, I think I forgot a step with the installation of the hinges, on one of the sections that gets stuck to the top, I forgot to use the prep fluid they send with you, so we will see if that affects the ability to stick. I did clean the top prior to installation, and since mine is a painted top, I have a feeling that I'll be ok, time will tell.

On another side note. I have purchased the hinge pins and hard top removal jack as well from EZ4x4, so maybe I'll also be able to give a review on those too in time.

Nice pics!
Yes, I’m curious to hear any further reservations/observations you have regarding the roof rack. General appearance, including from the back. Can the manufacturer’s labels be removed without marking the finish. How likely is the rack to mar the underside of the middle panel. Suitability to be used as a luggage rack. Any change in relative wind noise.
