Trail ride on Broken Arrow in Sedona, AZ🏜

@JiuJitsuJoe and The Man in Black on the trails! (y)

I had a video clip where I was slowly slogging though muddy forest and Louise Armstrong's What a Wonderful World happened to playing in the back ground. It was incredibly appropriate for the moment. Anytime I'm in the woods with my Bronco, it truly is a wonderful world in that moment.

Curious how it holds up. My LOD Black Ops Transmission Skid Plate is pretty trashed already. Will see if it's salvageable.
Bought their aluminum version with reinforcing ribs to save weight. It’s bent up in the center some. Otherwise good shape. In hindsight, wish I’d bought the steel version. At least I could weld on it. Not set up to weld aluminum. Since then, I’ve installed a PPE aluminum transmission pan probably negating any need for trans skid. But skid went back on after pan anyway.

I could be wrong, but Talons is one of a very few, if not the only one, making a direct fit trans skid to existing SAS skids. IMHO, a good design and I like the company. As I said above, if I had to do over it would be steel.

I would not rely on a cast aluminum pan for protection for my transmission fluid. Aluminum sheet/plate in a skid is a very different animal.

I agree. That’s why I put the skid back.

Asfir offers up an aluminum transmission skid plate. I just installed the Ford engine and transfer case skids with the Asfir transmission skid and transfer case skid brace. All fit like a glove.
