Many thanks all, its more or less just curiosity at this point. so far, the 33's really seem to be just fine for what Im doing.
You won't have to worry. I didn't want the SAS package on my badlands since .5" of lift and wheels and tires is the only difference on mine. I have yet to run into a situation off roading where having that 1 extra inch of tire in any direction would make any difference.

many thanks, thats good info, so, a sas badlands has a 1.5 additional lift over the plain non sas badlands?
I think the big difference is front and rear axle/lockers combo, suspension, tires and the Advanced Diff....$$$$

Badlands already comes with the advanced transfer case, lockers, and severe duty steering gear.

@ejpaul1 I have done this “transition”. My rig was purchased as a non-sas badlands.

(Neutral) Like others said the lift is only about a half inch different but the shocks themselves are different and you may get some rubbing on full stuff. Will be fine if you aren’t doing anything crazy at speed. You could get a 1”spacer or a body lift. I just went with new Eibach coilovers.

(+)Badlands does come with the M210 front axel and Advanced 4x4(4A). It’s also comes with the severe duty steering rack.

(-)Badlands does NOT come with the sas gearing ratio if you have an automatic transmission, 4.46 vs 4.7. You won’t notice a crazy difference here as long as you manage your vehicle weight.

Overall BL non-sas just slipped the gearing ratio, shocks, wheels, and tires. That said for the cost of the package you can get your own shocks, wheels, and tires and nearly break even and you will only be missing the 4.7 ratio. It’s not a bad spot to be in 😉

@Brian_B and others already mentioned a lot of this... but the list:
  • Wheels and tires, obviously.
  • Wider fender flares
  • Rear bumper trim
    • Available from your dealer's parts counter
  • HOSS 2.0 high-clearance suspension
    • Available from dealer's parts counter
  • Rear sway bar
  • Rear tire carrier with extended 3rd brake light
    • Available from Ford Racing Parts
    • Extension brackets available from multiple vendors for far cheaper
  • [Automatic transmission only] 4.70 gearing
Pretty sure that's it. Wouldn't be surprised if I missed something though.

Obviously not all of this is really "necessary". Badlands already comes with most of the important stuff in the Sasquatch package, and frankly just adding wheels/tires alone gets you 90% of the way there.

Probably your offset unless you got custom rims to go with.

Stock non-SAS offset is +55 and can rub a good bit like this without a spacer to push the wheel out a little bit.

SAS wheels sits about 1” further out on +33. Most folks will either:
Trim the liners or get creative with zipties
Small (3/4” to 1”) body lift or 1.5” to 2” tophat lift
Get a 1” to 1.5” wheel spacer
Get new rims (usually +18 to 0 offset)
Get SAS takeoffs for cheap
My wheels are identical to the Sasquatch wheels. Same offset, width, center bore, etc. For light wheeling there is no rubbing, but at full stuff there is. It probably is also tire dependent, my General tires are a touch larger than something like a BFGoodrich.

Something else for OP and others to consider that I unfortunately discovered thanks to the shock recall on the Bilsteins: replacement on the non SAS Bilsteins is 2-3x the cost per corner compared to the SAS Bilsteins for whatever reason, even though they are basically the same shock with different bump stops. So be prepared to either pay for those or pay for the HOSS 3.0 Fox replacements from ford racing when it comes time to replace them.

I looked through threads and I am sure it here but, I was wanting to know if theres more to sas'ing a non sas badlands than just removing crashbars and adding the 35's. I would have a hard time believing that no lift is required and I am aware that mine has 4.4 gearing and a sas has 4.7. Im just thinking of swapping when I do a dedicated offroad weekend and then swapping back when I am daily driving. Please point me to the right thread, im sure it exists
You can find alot of that discussion on 6g in 2021 and 2022 when the cars were first out. Generally, one "notch" of tire size upgrade works OK. EG: I have a non-sasquatch 2021 OBX with rear locker, 4.27 axles and Auto TC. I upgraded my tires from 32's to 33's, which has worked well without modification for 4 years. I bought those take-off 285/70R17 tires & wheels from a Badlands non-sasquatch owner like you, who was upgrading to 35's. Owners like him and you report that works well. Your shocks are about a half-inch shorter than Sasquatch Badlands shocks. In the early days, pre-order, some of us were concerned that too high and tall of a lift would be too uncomfortable, noisey, etc, since proven to be wrong. I ordered my non-sasquatch Bronco before seeing one or driving one. I will upgrade my Hoss 1 suspension one day with 2" shocks and 35's. In the early days, your non-sasquatch Badlands was seen as the ideal mid-level trim -- a slightly lower lift than Sasquatch, with moderately-sized 33's, but all the goodies with stronger axles, Auto Transfer Case, middle gearing and the sway bar disconnect.

on my 21 badlands manual I did method 0 offset bead grip rims and ran 315/75/17 tires for about 6mo. I then upgraded to 6100 bilsteins and set the rear at the 1st/lowest setting and the front at the one up from lowest for a little leveling.

worked just fine with no lift and prefer the methods with bead grip I can actually use vs beadlocks that are even more money to get the rings and not dot. adding the 6100 was just sn upgrade with more adj.

that was my self squatch...just missing the wider flares.

As mentioned Sas is a half inch over a Badlands, too little to care at that point, unless someone wanted to upgrade to the Fox shocks (from the 3.0 package).

That is mainly from the tires though, correct?

I have a 22' non-SAS Badlands manual. (4.70's)
- I replaced my shocks with Bilstein 6100's (after they fell apart)
- Because I had my stock BL wheels powder coated and love them, I added 1" BORA wheel spacers to push my +55 wheels to be in perfect alignment with where SAS wheels/tires would be.
- I moved up to 315/70R17 BFG K02's (when my original shoes wore out)
- I'm torn on the fender flares. I don't like poke. I have maybe .75". Maybe I'll upgrade these at some point.

Forgetting the wheels/spacer issue for a moment, I feel as though my setup is as good or better than stock SAS for 22'.

The Badlands has all the important Sasquatch components; bigger front axle, lockers, gearing if 7mt equipped. Bit of difference between the Sasquatch and "special" Badlands suspension. Trading some lift for travel. You nailed it though. Just wheels, tires, crash bars, and flares at this point. You don't need a lift to fit 315's, however they get close to the UCA, newer models may have different wheel backspacing.
