I installed the PowerStop brake set up with vented calipers on my F150 when I lifted it and put on bigger tires and wheels. Is there a need to improve the Braptor brakes?

Initially I considered the whole Power Stop package. After further research and noting how good the factory brakes are, I decided on R1 Concepts rotors and Dynamic Friction Ultimate Duty pads.

I don't have a Braptor but I can give you some information on brakes. I find my Badlands has great brakes and don't plan to change anything until I need new pads. I may then upgrade pads.

My 2002 FX4 Ranger had brakes from the factory that I considered marginal unloaded and unsatisfactory for towing. I upgraded the pads and drum shoes to the best I could find. That totally changed the performance of those brakes without even having to upgrade rotors. I not only had better stopping power with no brake fade but also had longer life out of them.

Going to larger tires may need improvement in your Braptor brakes but you should be able to do that with better pads.

^ Indeed, pads more important than rotors. My ASE Certified mechanic also told me today that no dealer purchased OEM Toyota brake pads last nearly as long as the supposed factory installed pad. Seems like a classic bait and switch... Wouldn't be surprised if the same from Ford.

Ford rotors are very good quality and long wearing.

On my 2015, F150 FX-4 lariat super crew, I changed the front pads to power stops at 35,000 miles. I changed the pads on all four wheels at 73,000 miles. Traded in the truck on my bronco in 2024 with 92,000 miles and original un-warped rotors at all four corners.

Stick to solid or slotted rotors, avoid cross-drilled. Pads will make a larger difference. I'm trying to get Carbotech to make a set of their 1521's for the Braptor. Will be a dramatic improvement over the OEM brakes but ultimately, tires are the limiting factor.

On no planet does a PowerSlop product end up on a vehicle I own.
I tried them on another car, and they were just terrible.

I think the Raptors' brakes are very good, and the only worthwhile upgrades are $$$$

I use Akebono ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pads on my Ranger with great improvement over factory pads. I checked and they do have them for my Bronco but I don't know if they have them for front and rear. It looks like they may have them only for the front.

My upgrades noted above were very reasonably priced.
