Yup - strictly optics. After driving the truck for 42k miles I got used to the liner covering the inside, even around the handles. Now I can't unsee it and it drives me nuts. Its just the little details, but why Ford created this problem I have no idea

The added padding for noise control is a good idea, if noise is the issue. I thought of going with custom EVA foam with velcro on the back to improve the interior looks. I doubt the price will be what I want to pay but will check it out
I would get resonix black absorber with adhesive backer on top of Amazon sound deadener / if possible. While the face dicreeet as is might want to get an upholster or tailor to layer a new face or DIY. The stuff is amazing.

Im contemplating Resonix black for my soft top interior.....sticks like crazy.

It almost looks like they had to remove/reinstall yours based on the outlines. Might've been misplaced the first time and redone at some point
Nope. I've seen exactly the same type of install on other new '24 Broncos. I think it was another infamous "improvement" to clear the turn handle more effectively. Probably less than 10 people complained.

No felt around the locks is not only a MIC hardtop issue. Same on my '24 Heritage painted hardtop and which was fine on my '23 Black Diamond MIC hardtop-the felt was completed around the locks.

adding my hat into the ring....I recently had my hardtop replaced and noticed the new headliner leaves gaps. Looks like ass compared to the original liner. As others have said it just looks unfinished. Anyone have any suggestions on how to improve the look? I would like to fill in the missing sections with something that looks like the rest if anyone knows where to source material like this

cheers

I was in the same boat as you.

Replacement drivers side front panel roof replaced under warranty. I left the lot and looked up and noticed my drivers side top no longer matched with the felt lining underneath the latch as the passenger side. I was pissed, thought maybe it was a sloppy Ford job. Drove right back and showed them and they said it looked like they didn’t order the felt parts to go underneath. Took it back a week later and they reinstalled with the mini felt lining underneath.

Still did a crappy thrown together job in my opinion, they didn’t align the felt properly and so there are gaps in between and not as “flush” as the initial liner but it looks better than how they left it before. Just crazy to me that they wouldn’t see the difference initially. I get it’s not a Mercedes but I like work done properly.

Long story short they have to ORDER the felt parts to go underneath, Ford told me it’s 3 additional parts.
