Replace the D44 with stock and don't weld it... less weight and less cost. I would consider the Barnes brackets as the factory ones are flimsy.

Weight adds strength but reduces capability. It's a balancing act
Yeah pretty sure that is the route.

I have been to the mall and coffee shop hundreds of times, occasionally when it isn't sunny.
Those people should be more careful.
Definitely they should!

I’ve never broken an axle or CV on any of the cars that don’t get wheeled hard. Torn boots, certainly. But the car that gets abused has broken a rear and a front. It’s the weirdest thing ever.

As a former drag racer... I feel this to my core.

Skilled.

Most wrecked axles or diffs I've heard of are from folks abusing lockers or using the accelerator pedal instead of a new line/more finesse.

If you find yourself saying "Hold my beer" or "Send it" often - you may be prone to broken axles.
To paraphrase Ronny Dahl, "To send it" usually results in sending it to the workshop.
if you've got deep pockets or a YouTube channel have at it 🤠

Offroading-the intentional accelerated degradation of a vehicle and it’s components for the sake of entertainment.

Fixed it, but I guess yours would apply to YouTubers 🤠

That would be content. And in that case you subject OTHER people’s rigs to that damage, not your own. Breaking your own stuff is expensive!

You can also order the front ultimate FDU with 28 spline axles so you can use stock ones. This would be the most appealing route for us on skinny 37s.

You could replace both front cv axles with oem every year for nearly a decade before breaking even with the "upgraded ones" cost wise. However, we have 3yrs on the originals with no issues.

Reasonable driving goes a long ways! Most Bronco owners are inexperienced and depend on electronics off road which explains much of the failures.

For sure! I’ve wheeled the Bronco hard for almost 4 years no issues with the front running Nitto 37s (heavy tire) but I also kept my lift and the angles on CVs etc inline for the most part. I do have a hoss 3 steering rack w, billet housing and good throttle control so we've been solid up front with stock CVs so far. Im
Planning on just replacing the D44.

Bronco owners with the OEM M220 have discovered this while using trail turn assist and twisting their housing tubes 😬
Resist the urge to push the button... :)
Heck I don't even have the button since there are 3 pedals.

Driver mod for the win
