Like the title says. New 2024 Raptor with 5,000 miles sounds like a Bluebird school bus under light braking at stoplights or in parking lot etc.

Does Ford use a more metallic pad on the Raptor for performance reasons? If that’s what it is and it’s just squeaky I am good with it. Just never had this with my 2023 HLE.

My Raptor loves to pick up small rocks and store them between the rotor & heat shield on the rear wheels causing a horrific squeal. Simple fix it to use a screwdriver or flat bar and gently pry/push the shield away from the rotor at the bottom - this allows enough room for small debris to self eject and not cause any rubbing (i.e. squealing). I didn't have this problem on my Badlands and don’t on my HLE.

If you do a lot of light braking, that can lead to pad transfer being wiped clean off the face of the disc. Bed them in (google brake bedding procedure) and it'll go away.

Most bedding procedures for semi-metallic pads involves multiple stops from say 50 or 60mph to 5mph using increasing pedal pressure. So light braking with little nose dive for the first two, then medium, then hard, letting the rotors cool down a bit in between. It's important you not stop completely. Do this and a bit of the pad will transfer to the face of the disc and you'll be good to go.

For the rest of us, occasional hard braking will maintain that pad transfer.

Does it squeak when you go over bumps and you aren't on the brakes? Or is it ONLY under braking?

I've experienced squeaky brakes on new suvs before. One time, I greased the back of the pads and it went away. The other time (old JK jeep) the pads were just garbage from the factory so I swapped them with new ones. Dealership was next to useless in both scenarios

Pretty common experience, I've had this happen on many vehicles...

My wife's Tacoma does it ....she just turns up the tunes. Breaking in pads is important. Like the other post says

I have a 24 also with just over 5000 miles and she's been doing it for the last couple thousand miles but only after sitting over night in the garage.. Besides this she's doing great...

Just under light braking. It is odd. I have followed some of the suggestions to re-seat the brakes and it seems to help
For a little bit and then back to squealing.

I say toss the pads and get new ones. Pad slapping sometimes works. OR grease the backs of pads and see if that helps. You'd be surprised what all a bit of grease can cure on brakes

I will let the guy at the dealership know and see what they say. With 5k miles think I may out it on them first.
Have to get my cracked top ordered anyhow. 😡🤬

I get it in reverse, first thing, when the brakes are ambient temp, backing out of the garage. Usually something like Permatex anti-squeal on the back of the pad does the trick. Just haven't been motivated to jack the car up and remove 200 pounds worth of wheel and tire, LOL.

As I posted earlier, if it's happening under light braking, you'll need to bed in the pads. You can google the procedure. It transfers a layer of pad material to the surface of the rotor and will actually help reduce rotor/pad wear. I'm always Ayrton Senna on the brakes, I rarely use very light braking/dragging the brakes as that eliminates the pad transfer and can induce squealing.

Interesting, I've never had a single noise good or bad from my factory brakes. I since upgraded the tires and pads and they have been perfect as well. If the bedding doesn't work, it should be a warranty issue.
