Every month or so I randomly get an alert saying Hood ajar. One time when it was parked and I was inside eating (made my alarm go off) and a few times driving. It last only a minute and then goes away. And no the hood is not popped or ajar in anyway.
Anyone have this? Know why?

Hello, Bill! Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to see how I can assist you with this hood concern!

This happens to many of us. Not much the bot or your Dealership will do about it. Even if they replace the Hood Latch Sensor (that’s what the cause is), it’s an issue with the part and could return.

If you can get them to replace, let them. It’s easy and they’ll call you to bring it in when the part comes.

There's an SSM for this. If you search you'll find plenty of threads with the same concern.

Can it be disabled completely without showing an error code?
I'm sure it can be if you just bypass the hood ajar switch to make it seem like it's always closed.

Mine is the headlights. They randomly turn on. Sometimes 2 or 3 times per night. Working night shift, it's weird when your lights just come on out of the blue.

Any chance your key fob is in your pocket. I set my alarm off all the time. Maybe you're hitting the unlock button making lights come on.

This is also a common issue. Mine does it fairly regularly. I believe there is a related TSB and the fix is to replace the switch. I’ll bring it up next time I’m at the dealer.

@jtmportland is correct. It’s an SSM

Wild.
This just happened for the first time to me last night.
I thought maybe I didn't get the hood shut tight, but it was GTG.

Nope, I have to open the door and twist the lights to off or auto... It's strange.
