Noise ranged from a small chirping bird to a squeaking shock.; most noticeable 5-10 MPH. Replacing the driveshaft resolved. Took about an hour to swap on a 2.3 MT; used a long-nose T-plus bit. The material used in pleated boot appears to cause the noise. The CV joint itself was well...
Great photos of the Borla system. I run the exact same Borla Climber system with the optional small resonator. I like the clearance of the turned-down tip.
At least on my rig, I found the front-end of the main muffler was too close to the hard brake lines. Added some thermal barrier board in...
Generally in warmer climates; Nor Cal & NV, S. ID summer deserts
Diffs - Redline Heavy Duty Shock Proof - "super-multiviscousity"
“Film thickness greater than an SAE 75W250, yet low fluid friction like 75W90”
Transfercase - RedLine 75W85. (have advance-trac w/clutches but will not use 4A)

I installed one of these covers plus the hood ‘blanket’. Used metric wing nuts from McMaster for quick removal. Might have reduced sound a bit.
Another mention on the Ranger Forums hint that the cover will help minimize water that migrates down to the spark plug threads, which cause bad...
My 2.3L has started to make the chirping noise <20MPH. Indeed it is the transfer case end driveshaft boot. Specifically the narrow section mid-bellow that helps center the boot and rides on the driveshaft. Not sure what the long term solution is considering the need for some degree of plunging...
For those that have removed M210 front half-shaft CV axles, which tool(s) worked best to remove them from the differential, ….besides common pry bars.`
One would really want to have amber signals for the work involved. Study Ford shop manuals.
Given mfg’g variations, it’s plausible some halogen models may already have the BCM turn signal wires routed to the tail lights.
- enclosed are photos of the BCM pin #s; there are multiple connectors...
With extra effort you could add pins/wires to the BCM for the dedicated amber left/right turn signals, and the run wires to the rear tail lights. Did the same process upgrading an F350 to OEM LED headlight modules. It is delicate work disassembling the connector top and adding pins.
Installed upper arms with loosening and dropping the rear of the tank down using a screw stand. Just needed to remove the filler & vent hoses, and unclip some harness lines from formed-recesses in the top of the fuel tank. I did have the spare Dorman fuel feed clip, as I was prepared to fully...
New tail lights w/amber turn signals
1. Can we presume they will be drop-in compatible to OEM signature-lighting tails
w/no Forscan mods ?
2. Any ETA on when they can be ordered or pre-ordered ?
