My Everglades came with a mounting plate that mount to the fairlead and hangs below the winch. Did you not get that?

I have attached a pic for reference.

@BigCatKale I did get that. But I didn't know how that was actually working for everyone.
Just going thru my options. I did find one that just uses the winch cable. Pretty slick idea.

@BigCatKale I need to go and have a look...I can't remember seeing this...my province doesn't require front plates so they may not have included one :-(

I did get that bracket too! Hadn’t even looked at yet. Damn! I’ll see if I like it better than my aftermarket one.

Why mount a front plate at all?

I'm in California, and I haven't had a front plate on any of my vehicles for years. In those years, got stopped once and got a verbal. The plate mount for the Everglades is nothing short of hideous.

So what’s the issue with other people NOT following your lead? Just not sure I get the point.

You're a wild man, @FreddieLee! Moving on. I just looked closer at the Ford/Dealer provided mount (pictured above). Here's the problem I have with it. If you look at how it mounts under the fairlead, it must mount with the plate protruding forward from beneath the winch. Go ahead and take it out to the truck and look at how it will physically mount under the bolts. In the picture above, we are actually looking at the back of the plate holder. I thought it would follow the bumper and hang down below and under the winch. Unfortunately, it looks like the plate and the tabs are not long enough to mount it that way. This is just what I saw. Let me know what y'all see/think.

Yep, you are right. Just tried it and it would have to face out I think and would line up even with the fairlead. I live in OK and we don’t have front plates so just never looked that closely, but indeed doesn’t look like it will tuck under at all.

I'm pretty sure the Ford bracket is meant to be mounted *above the fairlead. That's why there's a big rectangular hole in the bend, and they didn't bother closing off the slots that the bolts go through.

Did y'all's bracket come with hardware to, you know, mount the actual license plate to it? I can't seem to find mine.
