I have a Base and would be happy to volunteer to see if I can add modes if someone could give me a walkthrough on how to do it.

Baja is not the same as Sport. It’s way less streetable of a mode for some obvious reasons
i assume adding baja to a obx sas is not likley to throw a code ??

Also, I would have to research it, I think the ones with Baja come with a different rear end gear ration as well. The tunes might only accommodate for that, which would make sense, but don’t quote me on that.

For what it's worth, Ford has been saying that they want the end user to be able to customize the vehicle in any way they want, ForScan (which Ford is very aware of) is part of that stated ethos for the Bronco. Ford would be doing themselves a tremendous disservice deviating from that clearly communicated philosophy. I think that as long as these modifications are done with some level of decorum and thanks that they are available it will go a long way to making it a feature as opposed to a hack/loophole.

For instance, why didn't Ford put sport mode on the Badlands? They did, but you have to enable it, thanks Ford!

If just enabling stuff is all we need to do in order to gain this extra functionality, this is one of those moments that Ford legitimately deserves a lot of praise.

This is awesome!! But seriously… does doing this void your warranty? Genuinely asking because it’s definitely something I’d like to do but I don’t want to lose my warranty either.
I don't want to void my warranty either, but I am removing my OBX badges.

It won't likely throw a code on the adv 4x4 obx either, but I will be finding out when my Bronco shows up (hopefully this week).

With wildtrak losing the body color matching door handles it becomes a completely useless trim at this point lol

They put the same ECUs in everything. You can activate the bronco load screen on a f-150. This makes is easier for them, and not intended for the end user. If you turn something on or off in the ECU, and brick the car or blow a motor, ford will not pay for something that was not configured within there parameters. Also, somewhere around 2015, companies started tracking access to ecus and logging actions. So, once you change anything and it’s logged, good luck ever getting ford to uphold any of there warranties. Something about people blowing there engines and putting back a factory tune to get warranty repairs for free. Over the air update, lol over the air tracking as well.

All I am saying, if you mod it, do not be surprised if something breaks and your holding the bag/responsibility financially.

We need more modes like we need another hole in our heads.

Yes the asterisk (*) represents the data you need to change. After that you just hit “write” in that section and it will write the new data then it will tell you to cycle the ignition off then back on. Hit okay and you will be done. Clear DTC’s afterwords before closing out of the software and you will be able to enjoy your mods
great, thank you!

so, complete computer tard. Understand hardware, but need help with apps/software.
Anyone willing to let me call when I get the Bronco so I can add sport with help?

This is awesome! I have no idea how to use Forscan, but I’m so happy it can be done!
I can do a quick video tomorrow that shows how its done. I had never used Forscan until about a month ago and picked it up pretty quickly with a couple YouTube videos. The data to know what to change is the biggest hurdle and luckily we have heros like @D2dhanover to do the legwork for us. Actually it did take me awhile to get the software downloaded because you have to register on their forum and request a product key. I couldn’t get my trial key to work and ended up buying a year subscription. I think it was $10 which was well worth it to support their cause. I would have paid more than $10 just to get rid of double honk.

So now the big question of the day for @bytheway...

What's the difference between Baja mode and Sport mode? I noticed you said Sport mode turned on 4A, kind of surprising. I figured Sport mode kept it in 2H and Baja mode flipped it to 4A.
I didn’t know sport turned on 4A either. I initially switched back to 2H but figured traction control would intervene quickly if I had any fun so I reverted to 4A. Even in normal mode on dry pavement 4A is quite helpful when mashing the throttle.

my first thought as a badlands owner was that Baja mode would be a sufficient substitute for sport mode. I tried it a couple times and it’s a little extreme for the road in my opinion. It’s not like it’s uncontrollable but it holds revs at or above 4K, and I believe turns off stability control. Haven’t tried re-enabling it manually but it was more high strung than my preference for commuting around town. Sport hits the sweet spot of throttle tuning and steering feel without being over the top and holding gears to the moon. One of my biggest gripes until now had been the lazy throttle tuning on normal mode. I wanted to do something about it but didn’t want to drop $300 on a pedal commander or similar device. Not sure if that was helpful but essentially Baja is like 10/10, sport is 6.5/10, normal is 3/10 and eco is a 1/10 on the calm to extreme scale.

Awesome!! I was about to try the same thing, but my old OBD -> USB adapter doesn't work with the latest version of FORscan.

---

I'll just say this:

Outer Banks with the Sasquatch package suddenly became a lot more appealing... especially now that the Wildtrak trim no longer comes with painted trim pieces.
Remember when sas an OBX, you lose the painted fender flares which are highly sought after

Not necessarily. It’s the only model with the FE blacked out appearance package with gloss black wheels and beauty rings, black bronco emblem, gloss black grill, digi camo pattern cloth seats and the only model that comes standard with the 2.7L and Sasquatch I say good riddance to the body color Sahara/OBX door handles and welcome the MIC mirror caps as well.
Unfortunately, even if Forscan unlocks Rock Crawl Mode on the WT it won’t add staybar disco. However, there will
Be lots of aftermarket options to enable this capability.
