I asked my wife if she preferred flappy soft or hard and she said hard.
Lol! I have been enjoying the non-sequitor “flappy” connotation even though the soft top is hardly “flappy” or even floppy. Ignorance reigns yet again.

The point I was trying to make is that the primer may be part of the original process and not to hide anything. My stickers- built 5-19, primed the next day. Blend date 7/2. Delivery 7/16
I think MICs with a May label are 1.0 tops.

Also note the different dating type for “ 3 dr “. Maybe two separate production lines.

Wow. I’m really happy with my soft top. It turned out to be a big improvement over what I was expecting. And that was before I heard that the version 2 hard tops were having issues.

You 4 door position holders who are holding out for the hard top. Why? The soft top is great. Throw it back and you’re in convertible mode in just a couple of minutes. Why not get the soft top now and get an aftermarket hard top later, IF, that is, you still want one? Bet you won’t after you use the soft top a few times.
I just received mine with MIC. It’s not perfect but I’m glad I waited for it. I drove one with a soft top and admit I liked it more than I thought just due to the functionality. But I’ve never liked the looks of the soft top… black vs gray on the fenders, grill etc, wrinkled back window plus it will be colder in the winter and not as secure. So that’s why I waited. To each his/her own!

Mine had been sitting on Dirt Mountain since June, delivered to my dealer on 10/15. Due to vacation and new work schedule I wasn't able to pick up until 10/30. Snakeskin was very apparent, only on the driver's side, which was facing south. Looks like direct sun is hard on the MIC 2.0 as well. Seams all look good though, and at least I finally have it in my driveway.

Ah come on man! My 2-door is on a train somewhere, and these brand new snakeskin 2.0 tops is the last thing I needed to see. Now I question what's even changed with these 2.0 tops.

My guess, and only a guess, is absolutely nothing. The hard tops are going to haunt Ford for a long time

I thought they were just replacing MIC 1.0 tops, not repairing?
My understanding is they remove the glass from the top you have to the new top.
So you would be right they are replacing 1.0 with 2.0 but I am becoming less and less in favor of letting my dealership even try. Depending on how this works out it will be the dead of winter and mine will be the first they get to try their hand at fixing. Not to mention how long will this take and what am I driving in the meantime?

Considering that 1) you have no idea whether the bolded is true or not and 2) these edges have nothing to do with how the roof's seals to the inside of the vehicle work...I'm dubious about this being an actual problem rather than purely baseless conjecture.
Although I could be wrong for sure and I really hope you are correct, the fact that there is any gaps or spaces at all between the edges and having had several jeep hard tops I wouldn't call my comment baseless. ;0

I'm sure it's been said but it feels like the MIC 2.0 only applies to the front panels and not the rear clam shell. Majority of the issues seem to be rear claim shell edges and snakeskin that were not fixed which makes me believe a lot of them were never replaced. Seeing mismatch front panel colors could be a mix of 1.0 and 2.0 panels. I wouldn't put anything past Ford at this point.

I wanted the MIC but switched to soft top as others here did. I really don't regret it as I didn't trust the Ford fix would be all that great in such short order. The short cuts are starting to add up with these tops. Probably waiting for mod top or aftermarket hardtop now if anything. May just keep the soft top as I am enjoying much more than I thought I would.

I've switched to a soft top for right now!
IMG_20211104_011145_01.jpg
About to hit you with several questions (sorry!): What brand is this top? How hard was installation? Lastly, how do you like it so far? I really want to replace my soft top with this style.

I'll happily take a 2.0 top, push my order up to the front of the queue!
