So....how long until we actually see a legitimate aftermarket hardtop for sale and how much should we expect to pay?

Those rough edges begin to separate I guess you haven’t been keeping up with all the info if you like shitty tops so much than have ford give you a 1.9 mic top that was thrown in the trash at the plantNot everyone can be convinced that a rough edge = crappy.
A guess, $3800. 00- $4500.00So....how long until we actually see a legitimate aftermarket hardtop for sale and how much should we expect to pay?
Thank you. Same situation here. It is oddly getting worse.(Ford is aware and in communication, so we don't need to keep pinging them)

Updated photo from this AM. My hands aren't Samsquatch in real life, that's just the zoom level. You can see the fuzzy look on the edge, and that wasn't there when I picked it up 5 days ago. You REALLY have to be looking for it though.
Bad news, folks. This is a MIC 2.0 top built 10/1, delivered 4 days ago.
Top looked excellent at pickup. Did not notice any issues.. 4 days later, I notice I can see the old issue returning. Have not notified Ford yet.
Check your MIC tops CLOSELY on the rearmost panel by the windows. Appears to be pulling apart a bit.
I'll have a lot more photos and any other misc info coming shortly.
There is also slight honeycombing.
Edited for brevity.

They won't look or work well after a few months of water and freezing temps or water and humidity unfortunately. Having dealt with jeep hard tops for years I can tell you it becomes a nightmare to accept leaks and water collecting on floor day to day. The musty smell gets old.1) All of like 2% of what you're paying is for the roof?
2) The roof works (at least mine does) perfectly. So what if some of the edges look a bit rough? The vehicle is rugged, it's supposed to be rugged, you're buying it because it's rugged and looks rugged.
no politics... I have had my hand slapped multiple times by the adminsseriously GIGI!!!!!! my truck has been hostage since 7/12. I dont want to date myself but if we got reagan involved all hostages would be released at inauguration ( google "jimmy carter, iran hostages"
I'm not sure plastidip is the answer but if the first couple model years get stuck with crappy tops and Ford refuses to take care of it, there's certainly ways we can make these look good and hold up better. We shouldn't have to fix them ourselves but I see it coming down to that unless you give up on MIC and buy aftermarket.I think with some plastidip, some sounds deadening material, and a little work, the tops will work out.......maybe.
Over the weekend I went to my dealer and re-ordered for MY22. Only change I made was from MIC to soft top now standard on WT. All along all I have wanted is a body color matching top. Hoping Ford or maybe aftermarket offers that sometime in the near future.So....how long until we actually see a legitimate aftermarket hardtop for sale and how much should we expect to pay?

It's just not permanent enough for my taste. There's other coatings that should be more durable. If done right it will seal it all up, and then thick enough will protect.
