I posted this in another thread ... be sure to copy the press on this ...

When you all tweet Ford Mo Co to ask why reservation holder will have to wait 5+ years for their Bronco's make sure to copy all the big automotive publications. Here's a starter list.

Ford Mo Co … @Ford
Mike Levine … @mrlevine
Jim Farley … @jimfarley98

Motor Trend … @MotorTrend
Car and Driver … @CARandDRIVER
Hot Rod … @hotrodmagazine
Road & Track … @RoadandTrack
Jalopnik … @jalopnik

Update ... Here's my first attempt

@Ford @mrlevine @jimfarley98 Explain how a reservation holder at a dealer that is tops in number of Bronco orders will wait 5+ years to get their Bronco @jalopnik @MotorTrend @CARandDRIVER @hotrodmagazine @RoadandTrack

Ford should just eliminate dealers ... direct to consumer is the future .... and for this issue, just throw their allocation formula to the side and just build in timestamp order ... your consumer will always be your money maker
A good Idea but it's not Ford, GM, etc. In the US dealers are required by state laws. If you want to change it, start there.

Eliminate dealers.... yea... right.... that way you can do your on warranty work.....
Sure, then just have Ford service businesses. Doesn't seem hard.

Because under the new allocation formula, some reservation holders at Granger et al won't be getting their Bronco until humans are living on Mars.
. . . or, at least, Elon Musk

I would be done buying Ford if this happened. I have never paid MSRP for a new vehicle. Being able to "shop" saves us thousands of dollars in a "normal" market on a "normal" vehicle like F-150 etc. This would be great for high demand new products like the Bronco, but consumers buying any other Ford would suffer paying more money. Ordering direct will be full MSRP every time. No thanks.

If I don't get a 2022 Bronco with a 3am 7/14 reservation I'm out and done with Ford forever. These clowns have completely botched this entire release at every turn. How hard is it to go down the damn reservation list and build the vehicle if you have the parts?

TOTAL MORONS.

I'm with you guys, but everyone that is mad, and doesn't like the way it works. Let's all collectively get up Monday morning. And call in sick to work and go to our dealer and cancel our orders. Let's show Ford that 99,987 people disagree and we want jeeps. Then leave there and find your favorite jeep dealer and everyone place a special order for a jeep before Noone time Monday eastern standard time. And flood jeep with 99,987 orders. And sit back and watch people that do not have a bronco reservation have a bronco in 8 weeks. Then we can jump on Jeep forum and bitch about why jeep. Ant build our jeeps last night... because they have more orders than they have parts... WHOS IN WITH ME!! LETS SHOW THEM!! 😂🤣

Order Conversion Process
CURRENT ORDER HOLDERS (Converted in Ford’s Ordering System)

  • Your dealer will start scheduling order consultations with all existing order holders to finalize/submit, based on reservation timestamp order.
  • Beginning 10/13, dealers can start updating/confirming orders in Ford’s ordering system with customer consent.
  • You need to agree to pricing with your dealer at the time of order entry with a signed purchase agreement and any required deposit.
So I can see this turning into a can of worms. I planned on getting a signed agreement this go round, but...What if my dealer ( who gave me a verbal MSRP previously ) won't give me this signed agreement at MSRP and decides they want to take advantage of this dumpster fire roll out and up charge me $5k-$10k? Is Ford going to let me find a new dealer and take my order with me? That would be the "right" thing to do. Or is this dealer ( which to boot, has recently been sold to a mega dealer ) going to get to keep my spot/order and I have to eat my $100 reservation and get in the back of the line somewhere else???? This could actually get uglier for Ford than it already is IMHO. I have a vehicle to drive, so I am don't need my Bronco right away. If the dealerships weren't depleted of inventory I would have likely bought a new Ram already and just kicked the Bronco down the road 3-4 years. It doesn't change the fact that Ford and it's dealers need to make this right.

If Ford wants to compete with online dealers and provide a reservation system, then they need to follow through on the orders. This doesnt just affect the Bronco, this affects all of their new car lineup. If they dont take the reservation system seriously people will lose faith in their ability to seriously compete.

Maybe I’m the only one who shopped around my reservation trying to figure out where I landed in their allocation. No sense in transferring my reservation to a dealer that didn’t have an allocation to have my truck built. I get that granger has great pricing but it was unrealistic to expect them to have 1,000 Broncos delivered next year. I think my dealer had about 20 allocations for 2021. Even with a first day res I was pretty concerned I wouldn’t get built back in March. Seemed pretty clear from the beginning to go to a big dealer if you want a better shot at being built. I’m sympathetic to the situation at hand but the writing was on the wall for awhile.

What I can’t understand is how a dealer allotment of stock vehicles should affect customer direct orders. I was at a dealer the other day and was told they could not order a Mach 1 because they did not receive an allotment. I get that a small dealer might no get a “ stock” allotment, but how, or more importantly, why would Ford not allow a dearlership to sell a customer an ordered vehicle? Example. Lets say I live right next door to this dealership, but can’t order my Mach 1 from them because Ford won’t let them. So I am forced to drive to another Ford dealer to order a vehicle that Ford sells. How unimaginably stupid is that?
Not how allocation works. Originally retail orders were not supposed to count against allocation, but yet another policy Ford reneged on and screwed the small dealers. Now if you don't have allocation they won't build a retail order either until you do. This drives customers to larger dealerships with greater allocation allotments. Between this and 1/4ly incentives being paid based upon the #s you sell and objectives skewed toward favoring larger dealers they have and continue to drive the small dealerships out of business. One of the many reasons we got out several years back after almost reaching 100 yrs in business. Ford was breaking us with their unfair practices of helping the large dealers over the small and being unappreciative of those of us who had been loyal and stuck with them through the good and bad times.

Plain and simple none of us, small dealers or customers, should expect anything from them but corporate greed and them taking care of themselves as that's all they've ever done and it hasn't and won't ever likely change.

I’m not signing up for Twitter just to read this. Did it end with Levine being a baby and taking his ball and leaving when he said “feedback received.”?
