so........I have an antimatter blue black diamond on order. Can anyone provide clarity on this debacle? Without trying to sound like a whiny little bitch, wtf happens with my color and modular bumper since I don't have a build date and I'm obviously being pushed to 2022? Is it fair to strip order holders of their builds for absolutely zero reason?

When the Order window for MY22 opens you'll have to pick a new color. Ford is insistent on not letting us get the vehicles in the color we ordered in January.

By settling for a 2022 you will have to select a different color ...unless they have a few tubs of paint to use up. AMB is kaput once 2022 production starts in December.

As far as the bumper, leave it off your build and order through accessories. As I imagine, for 2022 you will 3 bumper choices, one standard and two optional, even if one is only through accessories or trade with another owner.

You could search CarGurus for your build as it might be sitting waiting to be purchased

You still have this week of scheduling. If no VIN, then you will be ordering a MY'22 Bronco. AMB will not be an available color. With regards to the modular bumper, you will have to add it to your MY'22 Black Diamond order. The capable bumper is standard.

Your next question will be on what happens to the price guarantee - Ford hasn't clarified the specifics. Most dealers are probably going to apply common sense. The MY'21 price of the specific trim with standard options will be honored for the MY'22 order of the specific trim with standard options. If options change, then the cost will be additional most likely.

Will this one work?
2021 Ford Bronco Black Diamond Advanced 4-Door 4WD - $51,180 - CarGurus

Or this
2021 Ford Bronco Black Diamond 2-Door 4WD - $52,790 - CarGurus

Otherwise seems like every BD in stock is Velocity Blue for a blue color
You're kidding right? I ordered a 2 door, antimatter blue black diamond that comes standard with the modular bumper at a sticker south of 40k. I'm not playing dealer adm games nor am I buying a 4 door. So that's a hard no for me when I already have an order placed.

I noticed Join Date in 2021, did you reserve in 2021 as well? If so you may be looking at a 2023 model with a 2DR/MIC and they may have different color options for MY23 if that helps.

Reservations are closed. You wont be able to re-order until the MY22 banks open on OCT 13th. It is almost guaranteed that you are going to need to change your color as it was announced long ago that AMB and RR were going away for MY22. Plus there is a rumor of bumper changes for all models as well. Price protection may go out the window if you change more than just the color....that is my biggest fear personally.

I'm a 7/17/20 reservation date. Pretty certain anybody who converted their 2 dr. orders in 2021 and didn't change to a 4 door will receive their vehicles in 2022 considering plant capacity and number of 2 door builds.

I have a 2 door BD on order as well and have the same bitch regarding the bumper vs. price protection. To get the same with price protection, the now optional MOD bumper will cost us more...it should not. My plan; I want the MOD bumper so I will add it, not argue with my Dealer about the extra cost....but after I get my BD...a Letter to Ford; CEO, the Board....demanding a refund on the additional charge under "price protection". Maybe suggestions of legal action. We shall see how it goes. It is NO fault of ours that they are pushing us to MY22....and....they should never have offered us price protection on a similar equipped vehicle if they were not going to honor it. Right now....we just have no clarification.

I suppose this all boils down to lack of communication from the blue oval. I'd really like to KNOW wtf they're thinking. I haven't seen official documentation that I need to choose another color and pay extra for a bumper that was supposed to come standard with my build. I understand commodities restraint and pandemic surprises but is it good, ethical business practice to stick it to a long term reservation holder when it is completely in their control?

Seems like they have no control over price protection. If they did, dealers would not be marking it up when they arrive.

You likely will not have to pay extra for the bumper as long as your dealer honors Ford's price protection... but yeah... you'll have to get a different color.

To be fair to Ford, they have communicated all of these updates to dealers with the assumption that dealers would communicate with their customers. Makes sense... seems like a perfectly reasonable assumption to me considering we are not buying the vehicle from Ford, we're buying it from the dealer. BUT it seems many dealers just simply suck at customer relations.

Luckily my dealer has been keeping me updated throughout the process--I got an email from the sales manager regarding the 2022 colors about 3-4 weeks ago.

Price protection is a well documented promise from Ford. I’d say a legally binding promise. It probably can be argued by some dealers that it only covers MSRP but, the way it was stated in the emails from Ford it will be quite a mess for a dealer that chooses to ignore it I bet.
