Bronco Super Celebration West Highlights?!?!?

Attended the event in BV today with my family. Took a ride along with my eldest daughter in 4D Big Bend which was fun, but bummed that I was unable to ride in a 2D. Finally saw a 2D Sas up close, but only for 20 seconds before it drove off.

Best part of the day was my kids were stoked to see so many rad old school rigs.

Observations from my kids:
- Both kids preferred the rear seats in the 2D
- “315’s don’t look like 35’s Dad” (that one made me proud)

Observations from my wife:
- Her favorites were the Maxlider 4D’s, specifically the brown leather interior on the white one.
- Antimatter Blue is her favorite color
- 2D front seats were more comfortable than our JK
- Marine grade vinyl was nicer than expected
- She was a bit overwhelmed by Bronco offering so many different models & options.
-Event staff Was very kind.

My takeaways
- stoked to see a 2D Sas, bummer to be so close and yet so far from being able to ride in one.
- So. Many. Rad. Old. Rigs!
- Maxlider 4D’s we’re rad.
- Funhaver front bumper is looking better, winch set back & grill is trimmed to accommodate
- I played with a V1 MIC top and it’s surprising soft / flexible. Felt very cheap. It’s no wonder they creak and click. Please FORD , I hope this is addressed in V2 (see video)
- Lifted 4D “almost” made me want to walk away from my 2D plans but my resolve remains steadfast.
- MIC top still needs to be black, or make the trim on the B-pillar gray.

Nice video. They're parked in front of the London Mine in Mosquito Gulch near Alma, then driving over Mosquito Pass. Bunch of 13ers up there. Never driven that high, but I've hiked to the tops of a bunch of the peaks (London, Mosquito, Repeater, Tweto). Thanks for posting.

Handful of the Broncos I got this morning before taking off on a trail. Still plenty left to get pictures of. More were rolling in all day.

It was my first! I had a great time. I will definitely be back for West next year. There are organized trail runs by the event coordinators, but say, for instance, putting together a Bronco6G trail group to do something would be encouraged.

I'm actually working with another forum member to share a VRBO next year and bringing the wife and daughter for the trip.

Hey @ChrisD I think you have a YouTuber on your tail driving into the field.

That's Tarikh! I showed him how my trim next to my tailgate was screwed up (getting fixed on Tuesday). He checked his and it fell off his bronco. I'm not making this up!

ETA: Tarikh is really super cool and I really enjoyed hanging out with him. I looked for him on subsequent days, but never saw him again. I'm subscribed to his channel and support him because he's just a great guy!

Got to ride with Baja 1000 champ Mark Stahl, which was quite a trip!

Editing to add takeaways from our conversation:

• Buy American (Bridgestone KO2's over other brands)
• Get the Sasquatch (he's sponsored by Bilstein)
• For most people, the 4 cyclinder is plenty (hmmm...will have to think about that)
• If you've got the skills, you can do just about anything without lockers or disco

Chris, it will make the trip that much more meaningful with the family along to enjoy. Not a problem working out the accommodations to support another Broncoholic like myself and the CFO (Cindy). She will be driving and wheeling the 2021 Antimatter Blue Badlands next year..

I rode with Mark, too! That was the trip up when Shelby was driving the TC Customs Bronco. She passed us on the gravel road at great speed!

Mark was a ton of fun and I made sure to say Hi to him every time I saw him this week - he probably got tired of me.
