Ahhh the old Mod 11 check digit. Yes this results in the possibility of a check digit being 10 which eliminates those numbers as candidates.
So yes ONLY 9,091 valid VINs.
Still seems like my original assertion that "many many VINs fit in here" was more correct than "it isn't really hard to calculate out the rest of your VIN number" don't you think?

Yep, I was wrong.
I didn't think it would be that many, now mind you, there are other ways to reduce that significantly, because a large number of VIN numbers simply weren't assigned (below 40k and above 90k), most retail orders are between 60k and 90k at the moment. That doesn't change the fact that I was wrong.
